Riley's POV

"Who is saying no to what?!" I was so confused.

"I'm afraid Smackle is gonna say no."

"Okay, I'm gonna look for some clarification on this next question: What will she be saying no to?" Zay took another sip of his water.

"Marrying me," Farkle took a tiny little box out of his pocket. "This was my secret."

Zay legitimately did a spit take.

"Yea what he did," I pointed to Zay to inform Farkle that I was just as shocked.

Instead of responding to our antics, he just opened the box.

Engagement Ring that Farkle picked out for Smackle.

"It all makes sense now," I spoke to myself out loud.

"What does?" Farkle asked still nervous from the reveal.

"Smackle was telling me how you seemed off, how you were hiding texts, coming home late. It's all because of this and the planning for it," I said dumbfounded by the obviousness of it now.

"So you're really gonna do it man?" Zay questioned in disbelief.

"Yea. I really am," he smiled looking down at the ring. "I love her. Wait do you think I shouldn't?!" he panicked.

"You're seriously delusional if you don't think you aren't already there. You two are perfect for each other. You're more perfect than the pairing of 2 hydrogrens and one oxygen," Zay ranted.

"What?" Farkle chuckled.

"Hey, I was trying to speak your language. Don't shoot me down. You get what I was trying to say," Zay said giving him a hug.

"She's gonna love the ring Farkle, but trust me, she loves you even more," I got up and hugged him. "Congrats."

"Yea, congrats man! So, who is gonna be the best man..?" he grinned at Farkle and kinked his eyebrows hoping that he would give him the answer he wanted to hear.

"We can talk about that later," Farkle patted Zay's back. "I think now we need to continue with the secrets."

"Okay, fine. I kind of started talking to this girl."

"Name?" I asked.

"Picture too," Farkle insisted.

"Her name is Peyton," Zay turned his phone around to show Farkle and me.

"So are you gonna bring her to my parent's wedding thingy?"

"I don't know. I mean, it's still kinda early. But, she is so sweet. I really think you guys are gonna like her when you meet her. I'm not sure I'm gonna bring her around yet though because it is so new and I'm not the best with relationships," he put his phone back in his pocket.

"You're fine with relationships and any girl would be lucky to have you," I smiled sweetly at Zay.

"Does anybody else know?" Farkle asked.

"Nope. Just you guys," he stated frankly.

"Not even Lucas?" I said surprised.

"Not even Lucas. Right now, this is a secret between this dynamic of our group. It's between us three. Two of my very best friends," he scratched his neck.

"Right. Between us three," Farkle smiled at the thought.

I think he was finally a little at ease with the status of their friendship, and the thought of that made me smile.

"I guess it's my turn," my smile faded away. "Mine is kind of deep."

"Go ahead, Riley. It's okay." Farkle said. He and Zay both grabbed a hand and squeezed it tightly.

"I might not be able to have kids," I felt the tears well up in my eyes, but I blinked them back.

"What?" Farkle looked at me distraught by what he just heard.

"I'm sorry Riley," Zay squeezed my hand a little harder. "If you wanna be a mother though, you will be. Whether it's your biological child or an adopted child, you can be a mother and you are gonna be a great one if you want to."

"I know," I swallowed the lump in my throat.

"What did Lucas say?" Farkle asked.

"I haven't told him yet. I don't know how he is gonna react. I mean this could potentially affect his future too. I mean I know I was angry and upset at first. And then you know, life goes on. And if I can't be a biological mother, maybe I'm meant to be a mother to those kids who aren't as fortunate to have their biological mother around."

"Exactly. And Riley. I know how much he loves you. So don't worry, he is gonna be with you every step of the way. And you never know, miracles can happen--you just gotta have a little faith sometimes," Zay wiped the stray tear from falling all the way down my cheek.

"How long have you known?" Farkle wondered out loud.

"About a week or two maybe, I don't even know. It all feels like a blur now. Especially with everything going on with the wedding stuff...there hasn't really been time to worry about it too much," I answered.

"There is always time to worry about something like this. I mean there is no rush to tell Lucas right now, but don't think that your problems aren't important too," he took the pen from his ear and crossed off the friendship questions.

"Thanks guys. I love you. I really do," I wiped underneath my eyes to make sure no mascara was smudged on my face.

"Love you guys too," Zay and Farkle said in unison.
