Dreams (Universe) {Working On Part 2}

(I honestly can't believe how many of you wanted a part 2 of this. The scenario wasn't even all that good. I saw how many wanted a second part, and I was like, "Holy crap. Guess I gotta do a part two of this then."....... I also realized that in the last part, I didn't spell Smoky Quartz right. Sorry about that.)

Gene sighed, closing his eyes as he leaned back in his chair tiredly. It was true that Gens didn't need sleep, hence why they worked endlessly, but they could sleep if they wanted to.... normally, a Diamond, out of all Gems, would not sleep..... but it was the only way he ever really got to see him again....

"Dante.... turn off the power...."

"My Diamond...... I am not Dante..."

Gene glanced down at the Pearl standing beside his chair. That was true..... this wasn't the Blue Pearl he had before..... this was Zane's Pearl......

"Ein..... just turn off the power...."

Ein flicked his tail, before turning off the power. Ein had traits of an Earth wolf...... which included the ears and tail..... despite Ein's gemstone being a Black Pearl, his ears and tail were a dark blue... Zane had done that when he learned about the wolves..... he loved Earth....

Gene closed his eyes, letting sleep overtake him....

When he opened his eyes, he was on Earth. It took him a moment, before realizing the other Diamonds were with him as well.... Zenix, Sasha, ....... and Zane......

"Look, Gene!" Zane held out his hand, which had a dark colored four legged creature in it. "Isn't it adorable? I told you I made my
Pearl look the way he does for a reason!"

"This species is quite..... new......" Gene cleared his throat. "Thank you, Zane...."

Zane beamed, hugging Gene tightly. Gene hugged back slowly, not used to affection like this... Zane let go, going back to exploring the fascinating offers of Earth.....

Gene turned to Zenix and Sasha. "I'm getting worried for him."

"Why?" Sasha asked, running her hands through her hair.

"Zane is naive..... he cares for this planet, clearly..... but a bit too much...." He trailed off. "He created new Gems to be like the species on this planet..... just look at his Pearl."

Sasha opened her mouth to speak, before a scream tore through the air.

The three Diamonds turned towards the sound, moving cautiously.

When they got to the scene, however..... they paused.

There was nothing there, except for a Smoky Quartz.... one of the Gems that belonged to Zane..... and then there was a pile of gem shards.....

"O-Oh My Diamond...." Sasha gasped, her eyes tearing up. "Zane!!"

Gene could see it now..... the sharp edges..... the pitch black color and shine...... the shape......

Zane was shattered.

Gene woke up with a loud gasp, breathing heavily.

Ein glanced up at him, his ears tilted downwards as his tail hung limp.

"My Diamond?" Ein asked.

"I'm fine, Ein...." Gene let out a shaky sigh. "Just a bad dream.... a nightmare..."

"That day is always going to haunt me....." Gene thought. "None of us were there...... what would I have done if I was there....? Should I be feeling like this at all..? Why should I care that Zane got shattered..? I'm not Sasha...."

But something inside of him told him why...... he had been in love with Zane....... and now he was gone... forever.......

Or was he?
