This is one of my shortest oneshots. I tried to make it as long as possible, but it was based off of a rough draft of a new fan fiction I hope to write soon. No, it is not for Aphmau. Any Danganronpa v3 fans? Kokichi Oma is so cute!!

Today was supposed to be the best day of Zane's life, as he was finally getting to see his older brother after five years of being separated.

If there was one thing Zane had not been expecting, it was sudden appearance of Gene, his past husband.

"Gene...?" Zane gasped in disbelief, tears forming in his eyes.

"Yes, Zane." Gene answered with a smile, opening his arms for a hug.

Zane was about to run to him, when Aaron got in front of him. He got pulled back by Laurance and Dante, as Garroth stepped up. Zane could hardly see Gene at this point, but he had a guess that he was unhappy.

"Gene, how can we trust you?" Garroth demanded from reawakened suspicions, glaring at him with tightened fists.

"I'm a friend of this family, aren't I?" Gene asked in return, frowning at the blonde. "After all, I am engaged to Zane."

"Liar!" Laurance snapped, making Gene turn his attention to the brunette. "Zane got a divorce to you!!"

"Oh, please." He groaned, rolling his eyes. "That was a mere misunderstanding."

"You're not touching Zane!" Garroth shouted in his overprotective way, his fists now shaking as if he would lose control.

"Oh, Garroth... you know, jealousy doesn't look good on you." Gene sighed, smirking at Zane.

Zane could feel himself blush, his legs shaking under his weight. He wanted to embrace Gene, to share a love like they use to, but... the delinquent had caused him so much pain... both mentally and physically. Zane had to be placed in therapy with top therapists, but even that was in vain.

He understood why everyone wanted to keep him away from Gene.

Garroth growled loudly, baring his teeth at the black haired delinquent. He would never let that monstrous excuse of a husband touch his brother again, even if he had to give his own life to keep him safe.

Gene took a step forward, now a good distance from Garroth's face. His eyes were no longer the eerily calm teal color of the ocean depths, but a psychotic red that equalled fresh blood. Those were the same eyes that Gene would look at Zane with when he would beat him and force him onto their bed... just seeing the smallest hint of them made Zane want to run and hide.

Gene gave a sickly sweet smile to Zane, before turning on his heel and making his way to the door. Before he had left the room, he looked over his shoulder at Zane. His eyes narrowed, and he stuck the tip of his tongue out.

"I missed you, my love." Gene laughed, before being pushed out the door by Aphmau.

As Gene regained his balance and opened his mouth to snap at her, an expression of anger on his face, she had slammed the door shut in his face.

"And DON'T come back!" Vylad huffed from beside Zane, hugging his arm tightly.

As the tension died down, everyone at the birthday party had started asking Zane questions, but their main priority was to make sure he was alright.

The raven haired goth could only stare at the door, remembering the ten long years he was married to Gene. Why had he even married someone as cruel as him? What had motivated him to accept the proposal? Why... did he let those things happen to him?

Looking up at his older brother, Zane felt a small flutter in his heart. That wasn't normal... it wasn't even legal! Brothers can't love brothers!

And yet... Zane loved Garroth as more than a brother.

And that would only lead to something much deadlier.

(Yeah... I tried.)
