It was another beautiful day during the school year at Phoenix Drop Highschool. It was the middle of spring, so the cherry blossom trees in the front of the school were in full bloom. The students were buzzing about more than usual today, a few of the females catching blossom petals and throwing them back into the air.
However, not all students were enjoying the beautiful nature.. some were sulking in the shade, not liking the colorful surroundings.
One of these students went by the name of Zane Chisisi Ro'Meave, the emo of the school.
Zane was never liked by anyone. In fact, he was so different from everyone else, that the other students avoided him at all costs, taking different routes, or just running away entirely whenever he got near them. When there was a class project, everyone made sure there was no one for Zane to work with. Not even the one nerdy kid who always got an A on their tests. Some students, more often than not the stronger kids who could use martial arts and self defense, would physically harass Zane and beat him into the ground.
In truth, Zane was just misunderstood. He seemed cold and rude, but he was warm and sweet. He always felt hurt and neglected whenever the other students ran away from him. Even after everything, he still didn't hate the other students. He only had a bad impression on everyone... especially the Shadow Knights. Zane always liked to believe that the others were mean to him because they were afraid.
Sitting against one if the cherry blossom trees, Zane hugged his knees to his chest and buried his face in his arms. "Why does no one accept me....?"
His head snapped up, however, when he heard the familiar laughs of a male senior, a male junior, and a female junior. He gasped quietly in happiness, climbing the tree as fast as he could so he could see them without being noticed.
Looking over the branch he was holding onto, he let out one of those shaky sighs whenever someone saw who they loved. He was specifically staring at Gene, who was reading something on his phone and spinning a basketball on his index finger at the same time.
It was only for a split second, but the two of them locked eyesight. Ice blue meeting teal blue.....
"Why are you in a tree?" Gene asked suddenly, startling the poor freshman to a near death.
"U-Uh...." Zane stumbled on his words.
"You're one weird kid for being rich." He spat, before continuing to walk to the school entrance.
"O-Oh.... okay...." He sighed quietly, before he fell out of the tree.
Pushing himself off of the ground, Zane couldn't help but wonder.... why did he exist? Did he even belong in this world?
"Hey, scrub."
Zane looked up, only to get punched in the face by Balto, one of the Werewolves. He fell backwards, before he got kicked in between the legs.
~Time skip because I can not write Zane getting hurt~
Zane held his shoulder as he linked across the pavement, his one foot entirely broken. He was covered in bruises, nearly all of his body being black, blue, and purple.
The dark blue blazer jacket for his uniform was torn to shreds and trailing behind him. The sleeves of his uniform shirt were torn off, there being rips in his pants, and the white undershirt being dirty, torn up, and stretched out. He only had one shoe on, which was located on his broken foot, and the laces were untied. On his other foot, the white sock was covered in dirt and soaked in blood. His mask was torn off, and he had no idea on where it was.
His hair was roughed up, a few knots here and there with blood soaking the raven black locks. The bangs covering his blind eye were torn away by Balto's claws, and the stitching seams to keep his blind eye to prevent further damage, such as infection, had been brutally torn out as well. A few of his sharp, but rounded at the points, teeth were missing, as blood would trail down his lips onto his chin, dripping onto the ground. There was a gash on his forehead, blood streaming over his blind eye. There were claw marks on his cheeks, and there was a triangular shape on one of his ears, where the piece of the ear was missing.
According to a few movies Zane had seen, stuff like that happened to cats, too. It was actually sad, how cats had to go through that pain, and how the creators of such movies made it seem humorous...
Just by the side of the school, Zane collapsed onto the pavement. He knew he wouldn't make it. He knew Lady Irene would transport him back to Heaven.
"P-Please...." Zane whimpered.
"Zane...!?"
Zane lifted his head up a bit, just enough so he could see the face of who had found him.
Gene....
"G-G-Gene....." Zane coughed up blood, gurgling a bit.
"Zane, what in the Nether happened to you...!?" Gene gasped, picking Zane up bridal style.
"I-I won't...." He began, but cut himself off as he felt an immense amount of pain.
"What happened to you....?" He asked, wanting to feel Zane, but terrified of hurting him worse.
"Heh..... heh....." He tried to smile up at the senior, only to grimace in pain.
"Z-Zane....?" Gene gasped quietly, before tracing his hand along one of the black feathered wings that had sprouted form Zane's back. "W-What....?"
"I'm a Dark Angel, Gene...." Zane answered, smiling sadly.
"I-I....." He stuttered, trying to find the right words he wanted. "Why didn't you tell anyone...?"
"My identity was meant to be secret...." He answered with a sigh. "I was on a mission.... to stop a Demon...."
"Who was the Demon....?" He asked.
"Balto..." He coughed.
Gene growled in anger. Balto did this to Zane? To this sweet, innocent Dark Angel?
"Gene...." Zane began, panting quietly as he placed a hand on Gene's chest, slightly tightening his grip on the shirt collar.
"Yeah, Zane..?" Gene asked, looking down at his freckled face.
"I..... love..... you....." He whispered, before kissing him on the lips.
Gene gasped, his eyes widening as he almost dropped Zane. He couldn't believe what was happening! Slowly, but surely, he melted into the kiss, forcing his tongue through Zane's swollen yet sweet lips.
When they pulled away from each other, there was a thick trail connected to both of their mouths of their mixed salivas.
Zane placed his hands on the sides of Gene's face, before he started disappearing.
"Zane! No!! Just a little longer!!" Gene begged, desperately trying to hug what little still remained of the Dark Angel.
"I'm sorry...." Zane apologized, smiling sadly as tears rolled down his face, slipping a black rose that glowed a silvery grey. "Let us meet again.... promise to remember me.. through this rose..?"
"O-Of course I will...." He nodded. "I promise...."
"Goodbye, Gene....." Zane rested his head on Gene's chest, getting out of his arms.
With that, Zane vanished into a flurry of dark light that rocketed into the sky.
Gene stared at the spot where Zane had once been on the pavement, his eyes filled with tears, as he held a black rose in his hand, most likely to remember Zane. He fell to his knees, hugging himself tightly, before screaming into the sky, sending a wave of emotion over everyone who heard it.
"ZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
