Chapter 38: jump scares

Madelyn's p.o.v

I've been sitting in a SUV for over 9 hours. I've been stuck in an SUV next to Cole for 9 hours. He's my mate, yes, but holy crap can he get annoying!

"Maddy."

He whispers as he pokes my cheek. I roll my eyes as I look out the window at all the trees passing bye.i wish I could have been in the wolves allowed to run ahead but sadly I wasn't.

"What do you want Colton?"

I ask as I turn to him he smiles and shrugs.

"Nothing."

He says and I roll my eyes. I pull out my phone and begin to play some candy crush when all of a sudden something wet is shoved in my ear. I scream and slap away whoever owned that hand. I look up and see Colton laughing his head off. Altaïr and dad turn to look at us but shrug it off.

"Cole! Are you serious?!"

I shriek and he nods as he laughs. I rub my ear with the palm of my hand but then I get an evil idea.

I clap my hands together very softly and allow a small amount of water to form. I push it towards Colton, who is oblivious to all I'm doing, and freeze it. I then shove it down his shirt and he screams. I burst out laughing and next thing I know I have a pile of dirt in my mouth. He bursts out laughing and I growl.

"HEY!"

Dad orders and both Cole and I turn to him. He is turned around and glaring at us both.

"No usage of powers in the car! Do I make myself understood?"

He asked in his serious tone. I nodded and spit the dirt out. I leaned forward and laid my head on the chair in front of me. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

When I woke up again dad was driving and Altaïr was asleep. I look to my right to see Cole passed out as well.

"Madelyn do you mind filling up my water bottle?"

Dad whispered to me as he passed me back his water bottle. I nodded and rubbed my eyes. I took the water bottle from him and opened it up. I softly put my hands together and filled it up with cold water. I screwed the lid on and passed it back up to him.

"Thanks."

He whispered back and I nodded as I went back to sleep.

When I woke up again dad was asleep and Altaïr was driving. Colton was awake as well and was looking out the window.

'Madelyn, should I scare the living crap out of your dad and Cole by turning the radio on full blast?'

Altaïr mind linked me as he looked back at me in the rear view mirror. I smirked as I mind linked him back.

'Go for it!'

I told him and he pressed the button for the radio. All of a sudden let the sparks fly by thousand foot krutch began playing. Dad jumped up as he shouted from year and Colton screamed at the top of his lungs. Altaïr and I burst out in laugher as we watched this unfold.

"I hate you two so much right now."

Dad muttered as he put some ear buds in and went back to sleep. Cole sat next to me breathing hard as he tried to get his heart rate under control.

"Why.... in the...... heck..... would you...... do..... something... like that?"

He asked me as he slowly got his breath back under control. I smirked and Altaïr chuckled.

"Sweet, sweet revenge."
