Chapter 47: medical bay

Madelyn's p.o.v

I shifted once almost everyone followed after the others. Emma, Abraham, Colton, and myself were all staying behind as we preferred to do hospital duty. We have one main medical bay set up around the middle of the feild. It's around a half of a mile into the forest and we have some warriors stationed their as well.

"We should get going. We want to be their before everyone else."

Emma said and Abe shifted. Colton jumped on my back and Emma jumped on Abe's back. As we ran towards the medical bay I made sure to stick to the forests edge. As we were about half way to the medical bay a loud howl was heard.

A war howl was called. The battle has begun and we can't stop it now. Gun shots were also heard and along with a loud boom.

As we approached the tent the guards let us pass. Abe and I shifted and they passed us cloths. I had a blue tee shirt and blue shorts while aven had just blue shorts.

We ran into the medical bay and everyone was moving stuff around. They all looked so nervous and I had to do something.

"Okay ladies! Listen up!"

I shouted and they didn't hear me. I turn to the guys and they nod.

"HEY!"

Both of them yell and all eyes turn to us.

"Thank you. Anyways we need to have organization. All bandages in the left corner by the door! All medicine and pain killers on the right corner by the door. I want all medical equipment lined on the back wall! All other medical supplies such as stitches and that stuff line then up along the back wall as well! Now go!!"

I shout and people begin to doing as I said. After a few minutes we all all set up and ready for the next part.

"Clean off the beds make sure nothing is on them! Make sure each station has clean towels and IV bags on the ready!"

Emma shouts and people begin working. We hear growls, howls, gunshots and loud booms from outside.

"Incoming!"

One of the guards yell and I see jade bringing in a warrior. This warrior is Xander! Jasmine lowers him onto a bed and five nurses gather around him.

"He has a bite mark to the shoulder, a huge gash on his left leg and a foreign object in his right arm!"

I hear someone shout and Emma runs over. Another warrior comes stumbling in and we lay him on bed two.

"What's wrong?"

I and him and he removes his hand. He was shot three times in the side. Some nurses help me cut his shirt off as we lay him on his side.

"I count five holes. One bullet is still inside him!"

I speak out as we keep him on his side. If I learned one thing about gun shot wounds it's that there should always be an even number of holes. Of there's not one bullet is still in the victim.

Some nurses push him towards the back where we have the operation tables. We hear gun shots from outside I look to see three rouges coming towards us.

Colton throws a large rock at one and it hits it in the ribs. The rock crushes the rouge and it dies. I shoot boiling water at one rouge and it howls out in pain as it dies from the heat. The last rouge is shot dead. One guard begins to move the dead bodies away from the tent.

"Okay, I'm good to go!"

Xander says as he stands. He only has a limp otherwise he's all healed. It's a good think we have a surplus of cloths at the ready.

"Just be careful."

Emma says and Xander runs out. Jasmine brings in another wolf and runs back out. This wolf is Alex! How in the heck?!

"Alex! What are you doing?!"

I shout as I help the limping luna towards a bed. She lays on the bed with tears in her eyes as blood gushes out of her side.

"I was fighting but I got caught off guard."

She says and I gasp as I cut off her cloths. She has a bullet grazing and 3 scratch marks across her stomach. She also has a leg that's gushing with blood and the scratch is so deep I can see the bone. She's loosing a lot of blood.  I'm so glad Colton has left and gone to fight with the others right now.

"Alex why?"

I ask her as three other nurses run up to help me. I keep pressure on the wounds as the other nurses grab everything.

"I couldn't leave Altaïr to fight alone."

She said and i felt tears prick my eyes. Her voice was getting softer and more forced. Her eyes began to shut more and more.

"No alex! Stay with me!"

I tell her as I gently slap her face. She opens her eyes very slowly. Her green orbs slowly loosing the life inside them.

"Do one last thing for me Madelyn."

She says in a very forced voice. I felt a tear fall down my cheek as I nodded.

"Anything."

I tell her and she smiles.

"Let Altaïr and Colton know I loved them very much and that my dieing thoughts were of them."

She said and i cried as I nodded. She closer her eyes for the very last time as she breathed her last breath. I let the tears fall from my eyes and a loud howl of pain was heard from the battle feild.

Altaïr felt the death of his luna, his mate, his lover. I felt the loss of a friend, a second mother, a luna. Another howl was heard that was Colton's. He felt the loss of his mother.

Tears streamed down my face as the chaos continued to go on around me. I wiped the tears from my eyes as some guards picked up alex's lifeless body and wrapped her in a white blanket. They moved her towards the back where aven and I had set up a ice box. They put her body in there as I got back to work.
