I feel alone. I may have brothers, I may have family and friends and a boyfriend but everyone feels alone sometimes.
When I woke up, the cousins were gone already and the boys were each off doing their own little things. I went to check on all of them and literally every single one was busy or gone. I texted my friends but nobody answered, and by the darkness of the sky outside I knew Chris wouldn't be allowed to come over. He was probably putting Henry and Bella to sleep anyways, or even asleep himself.
I sat for a while on my phone and even briefly scanned the TV but nothing at all appeared to be happening in the world. Suddenly I got a text from a somewhat new friend I had met and talked to briefly, she was a sophomore named Reese but she descended from her one grade up to hang out and talk with me at school often. She had a tattoo on either of her wrists and always said sketchy stuff. She was the exact type of friend my brothers would fear me having which is why I loved her so much.
My message of Hey, whats up? :) had been read 1 minute ago and here was her reply.
R: Aboutta go to Trent's party, it's about a block from your house actually. Wanna meet me there?
D: Umm who even is Trent?
R: This junior guy, don't worry about it! Just say you're with me. I can pick you up in 20?
I made a spur of the moment decision.
D: Cool! See ya then.
This was a stupid plan. With a big percent chance of failure and getting punished for weeks and getting lectured and feeling awful and disappointing the boys and yet...
I ran up to my room to get ready.
I pulled on some short jean shorts, a long sleeved black T shirt with two white stripes on the sleeve, and my black converse high tops. I put some makeup on and added a little smokier of an eye than usual and then flipped my hair back so it looked a little messy. Rockin it.
I walked by each of the boys rooms to check I was fine. Nick was out with some sketchy theater friends, Talen was in the world of Call of Duty with Blake and Dylan was on the phone with Taylor. He'd probably fall asleep there. I'm so good. I ran downstairs and shut the door behind me, grabbing the spare key from under the mat (we're clever people). I ran to the driveway and within minutes Reese swung up in a black small car and unlocked it. I smirked and jumped in, highfive-ing her and cheering as she drove off. I was gonna have some fun tonight. And nobody could stop me.
She blasted some rap from her speakers and I sang along to the parts I knew, grateful I did know the songs fairly well. We arrived at the house and i was HYPED. Already.
We walked in and I copied her exactly, walking in smoothly and casually. Nonchalant. I got this. Right?
We got inside and though I expected people to cheer or come over to say hi to Reese or something, we were pretty ignored. It was mostly juniors and seniors. There were songs blasting just as loud as the car and a guy next to us basically had his entire hand up this girls skirt. I looked away blushing and Reese laughed and threw an arm around me, walking us over to the drink table.
"Pick your poison." she said, waving a hand at the table.
"Whatever you get is good for me." I said with a smile.
She raised an eyebrow and handed me a bottle, a BOTTLE, of vodka.
"Don't take too much, kay? Not technically mine." she winked.
Yes, that is why you shouldn't drink an entire bottle of vodka. Right.
She popped the top out and took a quick swig and then looked to me. I opened mine too and swallowed some of the stuff down. The second it touched my lips I was disgusted. It tasted nasty! But I kept going. Eventually i got used to the taste.
