"Allie? Allie!" I heard someone calling.

I opened my eyes to find myself face to face with my History teacher. I was shocked how close she was to me, so I screamed and pushed my chair back in shock. The class laughed, except it wasn't funny. They don't know how much I was tortured when I was little and how I get really scared when someone gets too close to me.

"I'm awake!" I shouted.

"Well duh," Clarissa, who sits behind me, said.

"Shut up," I said back to her.

"Allie, swap seats with Daria. Permanently," My teacher said.

I picked up my notebook, pencil, and backpack and made my way to the front of the room. But just as I had sat my stuff down, the bell rang, which meant we had to go home. I was walking out the door when Ms. Gardener asked me to stay behind. Great.

"Hey, so Allie, why did you have such a great reaction when I was standing in front of you?" She asked.

"You were right in my face, so I was surprised," I answered.

"No, I wasn't. I was standing in front of your desk, but I wasn't in your face," She said.

"Yeah you were. I lifted my head and your eyes were right in front of mine," I said.

"Look Allie, I wasn't in your face. Why did you think I was?" She asked.

I sighed, knowing I would get in trouble later for lying.

"I'm claustrophobic and sometimes think things are closer than they are," I said, not revealing the reason why I am.

"Oh, okay. Well, go catch up with your friends."

I ran to my locker and took out the binders I needed to do homework in. Then, I hopped in Hayley's car so she could drive me home before she went to dance.

"Why were you so late?" Hayley asked while I put my seatbelt on.

"The teacher wanted to ask me stuff," I said, rolling my eyes and pulling out my phone.

"Umm, okay, but you'll have to go to dance with me. I don't have enough time to go home," Hayley said.

"Oh great. Well, I'll just get my homework done there then," I said to myself.
