Annie's POV

On the plane back to Maryland, Ryan sat with Luca, Jayden and Georgia sat in their own row, and Hayden sat with Abbie and Sapphire. Allie decided to sit between Hayley and I. I noticed since yesterday's news, Allie's been pretty quiet and her anxiety's definitely shot up.

Hayley has the window seat, and she's looking out at the clouds, I'm in the aisle seat, so when it comes to ordering drinks, I'm probably going to be the one to do the talking. Finally, there's Allie in the middle. She's pretty tired—I'm guessing she couldn't sleep last night—and she's sleeping on my shoulder.

We've been in the air for only about an hour minutes, but I've been noticing some turbulence. A few minutes ago, the pilot told us that it was just some clouds, nothing to worry about.

Now I'm starting to worry. There's quite a bit of shaking going on.

"Attention passengers, this is an emergency. We must make an emergency landing. Please remain calm, buckle your seatbelts if you have taken them off, put up your seat trays, and turn off all electronic devices. Put on your oxygen masks, and remember to put your own mask on first before helping others," the pilot announced.

Instantly, people started speaking loudly and some even started crying. I put on my mask quickly and helped a panicking Allie. I looked over at my kids to make sure Hayden and Ryan had done their masks.

"Mommy, hug me please!" Sapphire shouted to me.

"I'm sorry baby, I can't leave my seat," I reached for her hand.

Abbie grabbed my other hand and Luca grabbed my wrist from the row behind. Hayden and I looked at each other and he started crying.

"Annie, if this is the end, I want you to know that I'll love you to the end of time, even if we end up in different worlds after this," Hayden smiled sadly.

That nearly made me break down crying, that was so sweet.

"I'll love you until the end of the end of time, Mr. Summerall," I replied.

Hayden smiled, "aww, you're so cute, Mrs. Summerall."

"I still like the original Leblanc and Summerall nicknames better," I pouted.

Hayden laughed.

I turned to Hayley, but I discovered she was talking to Ryan. I looked at Allie, who had her eyes closed. She had a focused look on her face. Hmm, I wonder what she's doing.

Everything went black.

But then everything came back.

•••

I looked around and realized the plane had crashed pretty badly. There was pretty much no plane left, only the seats.

My first instinct was to go to my kids.

I unbuckled myself, took off my mask, and crawled over them.

"Luca," I tapped his shoulder.

He started to squirm a little and then opened his eyes.

"Mommy? Are we okay?" He asked.

I didn't want him to worry, so I told him we were safe and everything's going to be okay.

"Wake up Abbie, please," I told Luca.

He nodded his head and crawled over to her. I tapped Sapphire and called her name.

There was no response.

My heart started beating faster. I tapped her again and yelled her name louder this time. Her eyes fluttered open.

"Mommy, where are we—"

I heard a super loud scream.

"Abbie's knee is crooked!" Luca shouted to me.

Sapphire and I both got up and shot over to Abbie.

She was just beginning to regain consciousness, so she wasn't really crying or anything yet.

I looked at her knee, and her knee cap's dislocated without a doubt. It was two inches left from where it should be.

"Abbie, look at me. Don't move your right leg, okay? It's hurt really bad," I told her.

As if on cue, she started crying and screaming at the top her her lungs.

Hayden and Hayley woke up to the sound. Hayden immediately looked at Abbie and gasped when seeing her knee. He crawled over to us.

"What the heck happened?!" He shouted.

"The plane crashed and the other kids are okay but Abbie's knee is definitely dislocated," I said.

I saw Hayley come over.

"We need to get her laying down," Hayley said.

I unbuckled her and picked up her legs, supporting the hurt one, and Hayden got her shoulders. Hayley went to wake up Allie.

"Thank god we're okay," Allie breathed.

"Abbie's not," Hayley said.

"Seriously? I prayed to every god in every religion I've ever heard of, and someone died?" Allie's face dropped.

"What?! No, she's alive, just her knee's out of place," Hayley clarified.

"Hey, can one of you go wake up Ryan, Jayden, and Georgia? Have Ryan go help everyone else, and you help him, Hayley," I shouted over to them.

"Yeah, sure," Hayley nodded, getting up.

Allie came over to me.

"Since you're in college to become a doctor, do you know how to set a knee by any chance?" I asked her.

"I know how to set an elbow, and it's the same kind of joint, so we can try," Allie said.

"Great, so what do we need to do?" Hayden asked.

"Hayden, hold her hand, it's gonna be really painful for her since we don't have medicine or anything," Allie said.

Hayden nodded and grabbed Abbie's hands. He started talking to her to calm her down.

"Hayden, be prepared for her to squeeze your hand so hard it'll feel like it's going to fall off. It's gonna hurt her like a *BLEEP*," Allie mentioned.

I heard Sapphire and Luca gasp.

"Auntie Allie, that's a bad word!" Luca crossed his arms.

"I'm sorry, I'm just stressed out," she apologized to them.

Allie turned to me and gave me the instructions of lifting Abbie's leg to a forty-five degree angle. On the count of three, I started lifting, and Abbie screamed.

Allie told me when to stop and then reached over to set Abbie's knee. Abbie nearly started hyperventilating. She was kicking her other leg too, which she hadn't realized made her hurt leg move and worsened the pain.

I noticed Jayden calming a crying Georgia out of the corner of my eye, and Hayley and Ryan walking around with nervous looks on their faces.

"Hayley, can you come here and hold Abbie's other leg still?" I asked.

"Yeah," Hayley said.

She walked over and sat next to Abbie and held her left leg down.

"I don't see anyone else moving around, is that a bad sign?" I asked Hayley.

Hayley bit her lip.

"Annie," she leaned in close to me.

"we're the only ones alive."

Wow, I'm so glad I'm back :)
