Day 3 at Disney.
Annie's POV
Hayden took our kids swimming with Jayden and Georgia, and Ryan tagged along to keep Hayden company. That meant Hayley, Allie, and I could have a girls afternoon. Almost everyone ended up sleeping until noon.
"What do you guys want to do?" Hayley asked.
"Not sure. Maybe we could go get mani pedis," Allie suggested.
"That sounds good," I nodded.
We grabbed our purses, called an Uber, and headed out.
The closest nail salon was only a few miles away, so we arrived pretty quickly. We managed to get chairs next to each other. The pedicurists started working while we did our own thing. I read some tea on TMZ, Hayley read a magazine, and Allie read a book she had been assigned to read for a college project.
I heard a familiar voice near the door, and then another. I looked up at the two girls standing near the door and I knew I knew them from somewhere, but I couldn't remember where.
"Hayley?" I tapped her shoulder. "I know them from somewhere, but I don't know where."
Hayley looked at them and immediately gasped.
"It's Skai and Ginger May!" She exclaimed.
"Oh my gosh, I feel so dumb!" I mentally facepalmed.
They heard us and turned towards us. They smiled and ran over.
"Oh my gosh, it's been forever!" Skai hugged me.
"What's happened since like. . . fourteen years ago?! Has it really been that long?" Ginger gasped.
"I can't believe time passes so fast," Allie shook her head.
"Oh my gosh Allie, the last time we saw you you were still a little kid! Now you're like, eighteen?" Ginger asked.
"I'm twenty," She smiled.
"So, what's new since we last met?" Skai asked.
Skai and Ginger ended up in the chairs across from us.
"Well," I started, "I'm married with five year old triplets."
"Oh my gosh, that's amazing! What's their names?" Ginger asked.
"Abbie Astin, Luca Greyson, and Sapphire Casimir," I smiled.
"I bet they're adorable," Skai said.
I pulled up a picture and showed them.
"They look so precious!" Skai and Ginger said at the same time, then laughed.
"I've got a boyfriend, and I'm getting a teaching degree for teaching special ed kids," Hayley said.
"That's so cool! What's your boyfriends name?" Skai asked.
"Ryan, and get this: I had a crush on him when I was in elementary school," Hayley giggled.
"That's so cute," Ginger exclaimed. "What about you, Allie Jade?"
"I'm in college and I plan to minor in medicine, but I'm thinking about switching to music, I'm not sure," Allie said.
"That's awesome! So, do you guys still live in Maryland?" Ginger asked.
"Yeah. My husband and I have a house, Hayley and Ryan have an apartment, and Allie's got an apartment with her friend Quinn," I said.
"Cool. Ging and I have a house and we live in South Carolina, it's pretty fun," Skai said.
"And also, we're adopting a doggo!" Ginger said.
"Oh my gosh, what kind?" Hayley asked.
"An Australian Shepherd. We're naming her Polly," Ginger smiled.
"I've got a golden retriever named August," I said.
"I bet he's a cutie," Skai said.
"He is," I laughed.
"So, have you kept in touch with Madison and Charlie?" Allie asked.
"We found them on Instagram and they gave us their numbers," Ginger said.
"Let's make a group chat!" Allie squealed, making us all giggle.
We exchanged numbers and made an iMessage group, then Ginger and Skai added Charlie and Madi.
By that time, we were just starting our manicures. Hayley had gotten acrylics the week before, so she made the groups and new contacts while the manicurists started on our nails.
Suddenly, Allie gasped.
"Hayley, get me some paper towels!" Allie shouted.
I looked over at her, and her nose had started bleeding. Luckily, Hayley had responded quickly. Allie wiped her hands and her face, then pinched the bridge of her nose.
"I'm so sorry!" She apologized to the manicurist.
"It's okay honey. This isn't the first time that's happened," the lady replied.
By the time Allie's nose had stopped bleeding, everyone's nails had been finished. Allie washed her hands and face, then she told the lady just to paint her nails with regular polish and not gel because it would be faster.
We sadly parted ways with the twins and then headed back to the hotel. We caught the others in the lobby and Hayden said they were going to go to SeaWorld. I hate aquarium-type places because of the mean things they do to animals, so I didn't want to go. Hayley wanted to stay with me, and Allie didn't want to go anywhere until we discovered whatever curse she had gotten.
We went back up to my room and snuggled on the couches.
"I don't know what's going on with me lately. Maybe my hotel room's cursed?" Allie said.
"Has anything happened before we got to this hotel?" Hayley asked.
"I've been gagging every time I use a toothbrush but that's probably not important," Allie shrugged.
"That's. . . just plain weird," Hayley made a confused face and laughed.
"Yeah, that's confusing me the most," Allie said.
"Are you sure there's nothing else?" I asked.
"Positively sure," Allie said.
We decided to change the topic. Allie spilled some tea she had picked up from some of her college friends and we talked about some gossip in the celebrity world.
It was around four-thirty and we were starting to get hungry, so I grabbed a bag of pretzels out of the mini kitchen to tide us over until dinner.
I took a couple and passed the bag to Allie. She grabbed a pretzel and it had barely touched her tongue before she started spitting it out.
"What brand is this?!" She asked, dropping the bag.
". . . Rold Gold," I said.
"Are they expired?" She asked.
I looked at the bag.
"Expired by two days," I said.
Allie stopped and turned to me.
"I'm counting this another symptom of whatever mystery condition I have," Allie said.
