Luca POV
After getting home from school, we had lunch and then I watched some Paw Patrol on TV. I think Abbie was playing with dolls and Sapphire was drawing. Soon, I had to get ready for tee ball practice.
I put on a tee shirt, shorts, and sneakers. I put on my favorite baseball cap too.
"Daddy, I'm ready!" I yelled and ran down the stairs.
"Okay bud. I'm taking Saph to gymnastics and you to tee ball. Once mommy comes back from the store, she's going to watch Abbie before she she goes to tumbling, and we can leave," Daddy told me.
"Okay," I sat down next to Sapphire on the couch.
She was wearing a silver spaghetti-strap leotard with hot pink shorts and a matching sports headband. I only know this stuff 'cause I learned it from my sisters.
"What are you drawing?" I looked over at her piece of paper.
"I'm drawing Auntie Allie and mommy and Auntie Hayley," she started drawing Auntie Allie's light brown hair.
"Can I help?" I picked up a dark brown crayon and reached over to draw mommy's hair.
"No!" She yanked away the paper.
"Why not?" I reached for it.
"Because you're gonna mess it up!" She stood up on the couch so I couldn't reach unless I stood up.
"I'm not gonna mess it up!" I stood up and snatched it from her.
She tried to grab it from me while I drew the hair. I was drawing the last piece of hair and she yanked the paper while my crayon was on it, and now Auntie Hayley and Auntie Allie had a brown line going through their faces.
"You messed it up!" I yelled.
"Well, you took it from me!" She argued back.
"Sapphire Casimir and Luca Greyson, come here!" Daddy shouted from the kitchen.
Oops, we were in big trouble! He used our middle names!
We got down and quietly walked into the kitchen. I was trying to look as innocent as possible, and Sapphire looked super mad and almost like she was gonna cry.
"What's going on, Sapphire?" Daddy asked.
"Luca is a big jerk! He stole—"
"Sapphire, I've told you not to use the word 'jerk'! If you use it again, you're going on the naughty corner for ten minutes," Daddy told her. I tried not to laugh.
"Sorry," she mumbled, "but he stole my drawing of mommy and her sisters and I told him he couldn't draw on it, and he messed it up!"
"Luca, what's going on?" Daddy asked me.
"I asked if I could help her and I took a crayon to help do mommy's hair while she did Auntie Allie's hair, and she snatched the drawing away while I had the crayon on the paper and she made me mess it up!" I explained.
"Say sorry to each other, then Sapphire, give me the picture," Daddy crossed his arms.
"Sorry," I told Sapphire.
"I accept your apology."
She walked to the family room and then came back with the drawing. Daddy took it and put it on the back of the counter so we couldn't reach it.
Mommy came through the door.
"Have fun at your practices, my little ones!" Mommy kissed the top of our heads and kissed daddy on the lips.
"Eww!" Sapphire and me screamed.
"Mommy has cooties now!" Sapphire exclaimed.
"Cooties? Where'd you learn that from?" Daddy raised an eyebrow.
"A girl in my class named Sammy said that all boys have cooties and they're nasty," she fake gagged.
"All boys have cooties?" I smiled.
"Yeah," she looked disgusted.
"Well. . ," I started chasing her around the room and she screamed.
"I don't want cooties!"
