A S H T O N

He stayed seated at the third row of the funeral home. This was something he never imagined to happen. She was here yesterday. He saw that smile of hers just minutes before.

How the hell did this happen?

That question was burned into his brain. He knew she hid something from him but he never that something would cause her to end everything. She just seemed carefree an happy. But everyone hides something. He never noticed Luke, Calum and Michael sitting around him. He had to look everywhere but the casket.

Just her lifeless body laying. She looks so peaceful so at rest. He just wished she was just sleeping and she would wake up. But as her mother began to cry he knew that it's all over. It was never going to be the way he imagined it. To have her be his wife and live the happy life he felt they both deserved.

The funeral went by quick. He never paid attention to what was said. He would take quick glances to her casket and quickly turn away as tears built up in his eyes. He didn't want to cry, it was something he knew she would hate. She never wanted sympathy from others. It was something she hated. He smiled at the memory of her ranting about how she just hated it. She never seized to amazing him.

His feels a hand rest on his shoulder. He glances over and soon notices his best friends all around him as they look at him in worry. Ashton hasn't spoke since her announced death. He was to crushed, to wounded to say anything. Everything was quickly over as everyone headed outside. People engulfed her mother in hugs and words of condolences. He slowly walked Over to her. She wrapped her arms tightly around him.

"You made her so happy." She mutters against his chest.

"She made me happy as well." He tried to keep her calm. She use to be as bubbly as he me daughter but her face held that one question everyone else's did.

What caused this to happen.?

He stood there listening and trying to wrap his mind around these events. The day before and now this. It all seemed perfect but this is something far from it. Everyone begins to leave and head to the graveyard. He couldn't take it he had to leave, he had To escape this and find something anything.

He walked over to her mother asking if he could be able to go into her room. She didn't hesitate with her answer as she instructed him where the spare key was. He nodded as he followed he instructions.

He paused outside of her bedroom door. All the memories of sneaking in here with her. She was a little rebellious, Ashton couldn't help but smile. She always wanted him to be by her side to be with her as she slept. He could never deny here, especially if she poured at him. She always knew how to get him to say yes and he loved that.

He takes a deep breath before opening the door. Everything is in place to where it has always been. But the missing chair for her desk proved that her assault was in here. This is the room where her mother found her. He shakes the thought out of his head as he looks at her pictures.

One of her with her dog Sparky. She always loved that dog. The next one was one of her grandparents. They kept her grounded and her head straight but since they moved she had her mother said changed. The very last one that was placed on her beside table was on of him and her. She was smiling at the camera as he kissed her cheek.

Ashton couldn't help the tears that began to stream down his face. She made he happy. He hopes he made that happy but he can't help but blame himself for her actions. He saw her that night he should have begged her to stay and not leave but he didn't. He notice a piece of paper placed on her desk.

Slowly walking over he noticed his name sloppily written at the top. He didn't understand what this was but he was to curious to not read it.

Dear Ashton,

I'm sorry. I did something stupid as you are reading this. I never wanted to, you helped me see the light in life. But as I set at my desk my thoughts hit a certain state and everything came back. The bullying came back. I tried to ignore it, I tried everything but nothing worked. Those days I cancelled out dates I stayed in my room and cried. But when I was around you it faded. It all faded, you were the person that had faith in me and believed in everything I did.

I never wanted to hurt you Ash. I never wanted anything to come between us. But I couldn't handle anything. I was caught up in my own head and my own thoughts. I wish I would have talked to you about this thoughts but I didn't want to seem pathetic. I always thought I could get through it but I couldn't. It was to much for me to handle. I just hope you can forgive me for my dumb choices.

I love you Ashton.

He held the paper in his hands. He walked over to her bed, sitting on the edge. He couldn't believe this any of this. Grabbing the picture of him and her off her bedside table he leaned back on her bed. He held the object close to his chest as he cried.

"I will always love you." Was the only thing said. The only sound consuming the room was his soft cries and protests of how he wished he would have asked her or tried to help.
