C A L U M
"What about her?" Luke questions pointing the girl in the way to short skirt.
"Eh to much whore." I groaned.
We have been at this for a good hour. I hated making bets with him but I love rubbing it in his face when I won. This bet was a little more challenging. I have dated half the girls where I live and they all would make this bet a win for Luke.
"You can die your hair orange now instead of wasting your time." Luke Stated with a smirk.
"Hell no! Keep looking." He obliges and faces the giant crowd at the mall. I hate how we both had to decide on a girl.
"Her?" He questions pointing to a girl barely walking as she holds a book firm in her hands. Possibly a john green novel.
"You're just making this easier." I say as i step back from the wall.
I keep my eyes focused on her; bandana tied around her head, old converses on her feet. Band tee covering her torso along with a pair of skinny jeans.
Outcast or loner?
Either way I was going to have this bet in the palm of my hands in just seconds. I carefully stayed focused on her. Not giving myself away at any point. She etched closer with the book still firmly clutched in he hand. I clutched my drink firmly in my hand knowing that we will be in a conversation real soon.
Within seconds her book was on the floor covered in my drink. I was going on preparing it was accident. She seemed a little heartbroken as he held the damp book in her hands.
"Let me buy you a new one. Please it's at least I could do." I offered.
She smiled before agreeing to it. I followed her to the book store as a turned to glance back at Luke with a smirk on my face. He stormed off knowing this bet was going to be all mine. I watched as she fiddled with her bandana making sure it was in the perfect position.
"Again I'm so sorry." I simply state as I follow behind her in the book store.
She seems to know her way around her as she soon finds the book and hands it to me.
"John Green?"
"You've heard of him?" She seems astonished but yet so am I. I called it as she was walking before I spilled my drink all over her novel that it was written by John Green.
"Heard of him? I love his work." I lied straight through my teeth. But it was all worth it to see a smile form across her face.
She was a beautiful girl. I never payed any attention until now. I couldn't help but smile along with her as we just stood there.
"What's your favourite novel?" She questions interested in what I was about to say.
"Ummm.." I glanced at the place she picked up the book and notice another novel of his sitting beside it. I decided to go for that. "Looking For Alaska."
"Oh really? I haven't read it yet. I've been reading Paper Towns." She mumbled on as we walked to the cashier.
He eyed me before sweetly talking to the girl -which I leaned her name was Jorja. He handed me the bag as he just glared at me.
"Ignore Jason. He never seen me hang out or talk to a boy besides him." She whispers to me as we walked outbid the store.
I offered her to let me take her to get some coffee. She didn't hesitate as she walked beside me informing me on what she loves about books.
