He was gone. You knew you couldn't bring him back. You lean against the door frame of the small funeral home. He always wanted a service with just family nothing else. You look to his band mates as they try to keep their tough imagine in tack.
You couldn't go in. Not with how things ended you couldn't look everyone in the eye. It was haunting you. The last thing you said to him before he stormed out. The blame is staying with you. People pass you as they give you sympathetic smiles and pats on the shoulder.
"Hey."
"Hi."
"Why haven't you been inside.?" Calum questioned as he stood beside you.
"Can't bring myself to do it."
"He loved you. You know that right?" You nod, seeing this conversation is going to be wrapped around that.
Not another word was spoken as he looks around him. You notice his cheeks are stained in tears. You hear him sniffle. You felt bad for not showing emotion, but how can you when you feel numb to the world?
"Come inside." Calum instructed grabbing your hand and leading you into the building. Everyone's eyes fix on you as you make your way to his group of friends.
You sit beside Calum as he squeezes your hand. You look to the front of the room where he lays. He looked formal, you remember his dressing attire on a big event. He was always dressing the way he wanted too. You looked over to the things that people brought in, everything symbolized him in so many ways.
"I'm going to head home." You softly spoke so the crowd around you oils hear.
The funeral was over. Tears were shed as hugs were given. You kept your distance but people had other plans. They crowded around you waiting for the emotions to show. But nothing happen.
You weave through the crowd as you head towards your car. It wasn't the best day of your life. You wanted to be alone. But just the memory of that night stays pure in your mind.
"Fuck you Irwin! You piece of Shit!"
Your words were harsh. But if you just kept your mouth shut he would still be here. You get into your car, slamming your fist against the steering-wheel in frustration.
"You can't break down here. You just can't."
Finally collecting yourself you start the car and head on home.
-
Three months.
It's been three months since everything and you have kept everything to yourself. The tears were never shown. You invited the guys over to help you pack up everything. You were excited to move and get a new start.
You have been going through everything for the last hour. The guys each found a room to pack up.
"Emily!" You rushed towards the room Michael was in.
He stood their with a envelope in his hands.
"What is that?"
"A letter from Ashton...The night it happened did he lock himself in here?"
You glanced around the little office before nodding. He wanted distance from you and your yelling so he went in here. You grabbed the letter from his grip. Luke and Calum rushed into the room curious as to what he found.
Slowly opening the envelope you find a folded up piece of paper. Carefully unfolding it you sit in the desk chair.
Emily,
I know you are really pissed at me right now but I want to make clear that I love you. I don't care if you are in the urge of strangling me I will still love you.
I mean I don't blame you for wanting to -if you did. I have been such a ass lately. Tour is stressing me out. But I know if you are beside me nothing could he to stressful.
This fight. I'll admit is my fault. But I hope you don't stay pissed at me. Don't you remember the day I broke your phone. Oh god it was the worse day of my life. You went three weeks without talking to me. But your death glare was enough to know I shouldn't say anything.
I still laugh at that memory as well as everything else. Our dates are what keep me smiling and laughing in weird situations. The first one I bumped into you and caused you to hit your head -minor concussion- but I got to care for you. It al worked out. The other dates just for worse from there on.
I was thankful for the chances you gave me. The guys swore that I was trying to kill you. But how can I kill the one I love. I knew I loved you when you laughed at my jokes and kept asking me about drumming. But you know me. I love my drums. Haha.
Your yelling has calmed down. Thankfully. I wanted to write this for you, maybe you could find it on days I was at rehearsals. I can imagine coming home and to embrace me in a tight hug as the letter is clutched tightly in your hand.
I want to start a family with you Emily. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Enjoy the bad moments and saviour the good ones. You are my happiness, my reason for going on. You are just my world, Emily. I don't know what I would do without you.
I love you.
Love, Ash.
You kept the the letter tightly in your grip as you finally broke down. You pulled you stayed sitting in the chair as the guys just stared. You couldn't help but sob. It was all your fault. He would still be here. You knew you fuck up some how.
You felt someone place a hand on your thigh as anther was placed on your shoulder. You looked to see Calum kneeling down in front of you as Mikey stayed standing beside you. Luke's blue eyes were getting glossy as his hand stayed on your shoulder.
"He loves you Emily. Just remember that." Calum muttered as all the guys agreed.
"And I love him."
