Friends.
That was good right? You tired to keep it in a simple out look. He was a attractive guy but could you see yourself with him.?
You were close. Closer then you wanted. He knew when you were on the brink she of tears; always willing to help. You hated the feeling that he was hiding his feelings as you cried about some prick that shattered your heart. Okay maybe that was a every week thing. But you couldn't help but think of him.
You stayed seated in front of him as he kept his eyes in his phone. He would glance over at his plate grabbing a fork full before slowly easing it towards his mouth. You glanced down at you half full plate knowing that this dinner is meant to be a cheer up thing.
You're not cheered up.
Calum sits back down beside you followed by the rest of the guys as the discuss things. You couldn't help your thoughts and as your eyes stayed focused on him. His blue eyes shined as he kept focused on the guys.
Maybe he didn't care for you like you thought. Just the idea of friend zoning him hurts like hell. Like looking at him - you couldn't think of anyone friend zoning him. He glanced towards you, smiling his amazing smile which you tried to return but you couldn't help it. You kept hoping to leave and cry or just leave and hope you thoughts go away.
"Guys, I'm going to take Shay home." Luke speaks up as he hands his money to Ashton so he can pay his part of the bill.
He nods. Luke stands up waiting for you. You slowly follow. Not wanting to leave but at the same time not wanting to go.
"Perk up please." He whispers in your ear.
You didn't answer as you starred at your feet. His face popped into your mind. Shawn was his name, best guy - you thought. You tried to not cry all day but this was getting hard. This made the tenth guy this past three weeks that broke up with you out of nowhere. You entered the car with out a word. Just a small sniffle escaping your lips.
Luke's POV.
She has been down for weeks now. Maybe I shouldn't have kinda threatened the guys that liked her. I know childish but I hated being friend zoned. I know she knows how I feel, it's obvious. But seeing as that I'm just the friend, proves she hasn't yet understand.
This guy...wait what was his name. Oh Shawn that was it. I could have seen them getting married in the future. He really liked her. I've known him since grade school. And there in the memory he was starring at her from afar. I sighed as we finally pulled up to our shared apartment. She rushed out and headed in closing the door behind her.
"Great, this one is going to be worst then the last." I groan before getting out.
Entering the house. I head straight to the fridge. Grabbing her favorite ice cream and a spoon before heading towards the soft sobs.
"Shay." She didn't move as she stayed with her face buried the pillows.
Way to go Luke. Again.
Okay. I'm a awful best friend. I have caused these tears so long. And the shittiest part is she doesn't even know. I have to tell her. It aches just to see her cry at a movie. It's killing me to watch her get depressed over my jealousy.
"I have to tell you something." You took a deep breath as she sat up.
"Telling me that he is a prick and I could do better isn't going to work." She grumbled rubbing her eyes.
"No...Shay this is serious." Her expression changed as she focused on you.
You can do this.
"It's me." You stated.
"What?"
"It's my fault these guys keep breaking up with you."
"No, they are just stupid. Stop blaming yourself." She kept shaking her head as she kept muttering it over and over.
You sighed knowing she was going to be stubborn. You pulled out your phone and dialled Shawn's number.
"Hello?"
"Hey Shawn it's Luke." You spoke as you watched her eyes widen.
"Luke, I told you that I would leave her alone. I already broke up with her what else do you want. I did what you wanted me too." You sighed.
"I know man, I just wanted to make clear of it." You spoke keeping your eyes focused on her.
Before Shawn could say anything else you swiftly hung up. She kept shaking her head as you noticed tears escaping her eyes. Dammit.
You reached out to her causing her to back up. She soon rushed out of the room.
"Shay!" You yelled running after her.
She stopped. As her red rimmed as landed on you. You were shocked as she headed towards you. Her fist hit against your chest as she kept yelling at you. Her hands pushing at you, then coming back with force. You grabbed her wrists in her hands.
"Stop Shay. Stop." You yelled causing her to silence. "Can I explain myself. Please."
She didn't say anything as her body relaxed. You lead her back to her room as to instructed her to sit.
"I was jealous. Every guy you gushed about made me cringe. I love you. I do and have for awhile. But first day I met you I knew I would be friend zoned and that's what I've lived with. I threatened them. Every single one of them and I know that was shitty of me.
I want to be the cause of your smile. I want to kiss you when you our sobber, instead of lying to about while you mask with a hangover. I want you to look at me a say a simple I love you for no reason at all. I want you to love me Shay. LOVE ME, NOT SOME PRICK THAT DOESNT GIVE A RATS ASS ABOUT YOU. LOVE ME."
I stayed their standing in front of her waiting for a word anything. I feel relieved that it's all out. It has been building up for years. She stares at me. Not saying one word. I knew I lost her.
"I understand." I didn't wait foe her rejection I just excepted it and headed to my room.
Ceiling. Is what I have been starring at for a good two hours. Music blaring in my ears. I didn't cope with rejection as moats do. I wanted peace and alone time to make sure that I'm clear nothing will happen. I jumped as I felt a presence in my room.
"Dammit Shay you scared me." I mutter looking at her.
She mumbles a apology before sitting on the edge of my bed. I don't know why she was in here.
"Remember Nancy?" She questioned.
Nancy? Why the hell was she bring her up.
I nod curious to what this was about. "Remember how she dumbed you for no reason and after that she moved?"
"Yeah? Where is this going Shay?"
"Um....i kinda told her if she broke your heart I would make her life hell." Her hands stayed in her lap as she starred down at them.
I was in shock. Nancy was my crush for years, first kiss. She was just everything to me. I was heart broken when she moved.
"You..."
"I guess we both let jealously get in the way." Her eyes finely landed on me.
I smirked. I moved over gesturing for her to join me. She didn't say anything as she crawled in beside me. Her head on my chest as I savoured this moment.
"So, you love me?" Her soft voice finally broke the silence.
"So damn much." I tightened my grip on her making sure she was pulled closer to me.
I closed my eyes. "Good." She said before kissing my cheek and cuddling closer to me as we drifted off.
