L U K E
I watched her leave. My heart was on the line and she just don't seem to care. Ashton is a lucky guy. To have someone as wonderful as Lexi by his side. I just wish it was me. I stand in the same spot she rejected me in moments ago. The pain hasn't hit yet but the emptiness is there.
I know I can't just sulk around waiting for her to he back and just think everything will be better. Magically she will love me and her and Ashton will be nothing but a date. But that wouldn't happen. The way her eye lit up at the sight if him it was just everything I wished for.
I finally get up enough courage to walk around and look at the pictures along her walls. I remember her explaining each of them to me. The way she teared up at some or the way she just smiled. I headed towards the familiar door wondering would she be mad if I went through her stuff?
I shrug it off and just decided it's not the best thing to do. Sitting in her desk chair I think of all the memories we shared in her. Painting the walls to our talks. I love this girl but she didnt love me.
"I can't do this." I spoke out loud.
I can't sit in this house and get down about her rejection. I can't let all the memories of why I love her come back and make the ache in my chest worse. I just need to leave. Opening the front door the light sound of rain is heard.
"My luck." I shut her front door before placing my hands in my pockets as I headed towards home.
I know going home I would ignore her calls as well as everyone else's as I hate in myself. But that's what rejection does to you. I kick a few rocks as I keep my head down. The rain soon comes down harder.
I enjoyed the piece that came with rain. Hardly anyone would be outside and the roads would be empty. It was the perfect time. It's what I needed. I heard a car pass me. Knowing Lexi is on a perfect date right now with her dream guy..
"Luke!" I stop in my tracks at the sound of her voice.
It couldn't be her. Turning around I see her walking closer to me as the rain dampens her hair along with her clothes.
"What are you doing out here? You need to get inside before you get sick." I sternly said as she just shook her head.
"The real question is Luke why are you out here in the rain?"
"I was just heading home." I stare down at my feet. As I rock back and forth on the heels of my shoes.
"You could have stayed at my place until it stopped raining." Her hand brushed against my forehead as she moved my hair.
"I just couldn't. You got to get back to your date with Ashton."
"The dates over Luke. He was taking me home until we saw you walking in the rain."
"You shouldn't have stopped. I'm fine." I mutter feeling so much worse for ruining her date.
"I realized something why on the date with Ash."
"And what was that?"
I felt her hand go behind my neck as she brought my lips to hers. The kiss was short but surely what I wanted and needed. "That I can't stop talking about you and thinking about you."
"But why didn't you tell me when I confused everything I felt to you earlier?"
"Shocked, in denial I guess. Luke your my best friend. You know me better then anyone." She kissed me once more before wrapping her arms around my torso.
"So does this mean you love me?" I ask curious.
"Let's just take it slow Luke. In time possibly but right now I know I just want to be with you." I placed my arms around her holding her close to me.
"I can live with that." There we stood in the rain. Holding onto each other ready to face the battles that awaits with this new challenge but with her by my side I know that everything will work out perfectly.
