You watched as the guys played FIFA. Luke was sure focused on the game as Calum began to complain. Michael kept focus as Ashton kept trying to figure out the buttons. You couldn't help but laugh. You noticed the game was on pause as the all looked at you.
"Like you could do better?" Ashton spoke up.
You were ready to say something but nothing came out. You tried to avoid their game nights. You loved watching then play, but actually being a part of the game just isn't good.
"Here, I give up." Ashton muttered a he handed you the controller.
You stared at it, not even knowing how to work it. You decided to hold it just like everyone else was. Fighting against them to not play would never work. So you gave in. Calum turned to you and then looked back to the screen.
"Oh" You muttered as you guess had to choose your team.
You decided on the team that was on the screen. Not knowing how to look through them you pressed a button hoping you chose right. Thankfully you did. Michael kept his eyes on you as he seemed to know something was up. Luke didn't pay attention as he kept focus.
"Melanie you are on Luke's team." You gulped as you eyed Luke.
The game started as everyone was focused. You pushed random buttons not knowing what was going on. You tried to act like you knew what was happening. Halfway through the game you noticed Michael paused it.
"Okay, do you even know how to play? Because you are playing worse then Ashton usually does." He stated looking at you as everyone turned their attention towards you.
"I-I.." You couldn't get a sentence. You looked to Luke hoping he can back you up on this.
They all soon started to laugh. You felt embarrassed. This wasn't how you thought of spending your evening.
"Luke I'm shocked after you showed her how to play she still messes up." Michael states between his laughing fit.
"Yeah..." Luke mutters not even looking towards you.
"Wait a minute!" Calum speaks up. "You haven't taught her have you?"
You didn't say anything or try to. The room filled with some weird tension as the guys just looked at Luke.
"Can we just get back to the game?" He tried changing the topic. But by the look the guys were giving him that wasn't going to happen.
"You haven't taught how to play but you invite her over every time?" Michael questioned.
"No I haven't. She never seemed interested in games so I never pushed it on her okay.!" Luke snapped as he put the controller down.
The room was silent as no one knew what else to say. The tension grew more and more. You felt bad, it was kids your fault Luke was in this situation. You should have taken him up in his offer when he asked you.
The guys finally decide to leave, stating they want pizza. You knew they wanted to distances themselves from the tension. You stayed seated on the couch not knowing what to say or even do at the moment.
"Mel. Come here." Luke spoke up as he gestured for you to come sit in front of him.
You did as he said. You sat between his legs as she grabbed the controller beside him and clicked a few buttons. Your back as against his chest as he held the controller in front of you. You watched as he clicked an clicked away until a game was about to start.
"Okay now hold the controller in your hands like I was." He instructed.
"Luke you don't have to do this."
"Mel. I want to. And we need to teach Cal and Mikey a lesson."
You nodded agreeing. You grabbed the controller holding it just like he was. He placed his hands over yours as he began to show you what each button did. You were nervous at first but as he kept explaining you kept thinking you could do this.
"Ready?"
"Yep." You said confidently.
The game began and you kept pushing the buttons like instructed you to. His hands removed from the controller as he placed them on your waist. He placed his chin on your shoulder as she cheered you on.
