You were lost. Lost not meaning you have lost your way and need someone to come find you. It was more along the lines of a lost for words, a lost for emotion. All was going by to fast; him leaving, his new girl friend, their marriage and your pregnancy.
The patter of feet brought you out of the thoughts of the man you once truly loved. The little boy looked to you with the same shade eyes as he would use his little hand to push back his curls away from his eyes. He was a split image, nothing about your son was different from Ashton. You couldn't help but smile at him as he smiled back, his teddy bear dragging the ground as he walked closer to you.
"Mommy, i have a question?" you nodded giving him permission to go on. "Where is my daddy?"
You looked to him and away as you racked your brain for an answer, couldn't tell him about the fight and how he walked out and met someone new. It would break his little heart there is no good way to answer this question, you'll just have to show him where his daddy is.
"Sam, how about mommy takes you to see your daddy?" He moved away from you as he yelled with joy as he ran off to his room.
You couldn't think of a reaction that would be pleasant to come when he spotted you. You didn't really know if this was a good idea but he had to know, he needed to know, both of them. Heading towards the kitchen you grabbed the mail off the counter sighing as you held the concert tickets in your hand, Luke always was pushing you to bring Sam to a concert. He never wanted you to keep him a secret like you have done for 6 years. But it was what you believed to be the right thing.

Standing outside the arena the girls singing one of their songs as they waited in line brought back so many memories. Not wanting to cry again thinking of all the happy moments you shared with Ashton you grabbed your son's hand tighter as you headed towards the back entry way. Walking the halls back stage your nerves got worse as Sam's questions got more intense. You spotted a familiar figure standing a few feet from you as he seemed to be talking on his phone. As his voice spoke the words i love you before he placed his phone away you couldn't help the ache in your heart.
As he turned around you noticed him freeze, taking a deep breath you bent down to your son's height as you whispered something in his ear before letting his hand go. You watched as he ran towards the man. The man kept his eyes on yours before the little boy was in his view, you watched him bend down and ruffle his hair before a smile consumed his features. You knew this was your chance now to go closer to them. You kept promising yourself no matter what was being said between the two you would always make sure that when Sam hits a certain age he will know the truth.
"Brianna, good to see you." Ashton spoke.
Nodding you grabbed your son's hand in yours.
"So Sam instructed me i was his father." He stated as he once again ruffled Sam's hair as he laughed.
"You can't really deny it." Your voice was laced with venom as everything was flooding back to you.
He shrugged "Guess i can't."
Ashton grabbed Sam's hand as you let go, you watched them walk down the hall away from you. Some small feeling inside you knew that was how it was meant to be, Ashton and his family also Sam would fit perfectly into the mix. You couldn't mess up the perfectness that was in front of you. They belonged to be together and you are placed in the middle making it hard. You glanced around before you decided to run. Running was the only option, nothing would go right if you stayed.
It some how would lead to an argument with Ash which when you would instruct your son to leave he would beg to stay with his daddy. You will always be the bad person, always trying to separate. You tried separating something before which is why you and Ashton are not on good terms, breaking up a marriage is never a good idea but in that moment it seemed perfect.
As you continued to run you heard someone yell your name, glancing around you spotted Ashton running towards you.
"Where are you going?" He questioned as he tried to catch his breath as he caught up to you.
You shrugged not really knowing where exactly you were heading off to.
"You're leaving aren't you?"
"Ashton, you have a family and a way to support Sam. I don't he is better off with you. " You stated. His laughter caught you off guard.
"You have raised the boy for 6 years Brianna and you have done one hell of a job. If you needed help you could have asked."
Shaking your head you knew you couldn't do that. "That would be too much to ask for, as you have a family to take care of."
"Just because we aren't together doesn't mean i don't care about you and your well being. Brianna, we have a son and i have missed 6 years of his life and i'm sure not going to miss anymore. If you need anything you let me know, promise?"
"I promise."
Shocking he smiled as his placed his arm across your shoulders as he lead you back to the arena.
