"I think I'm going to go into the stadium this afternoon" Rob said sitting across the kitchen table from me.

"Babe, you are supposed to take today off. And that really means taking the day off" I said.

"I guess you're right" he said. "But can we talk seriously today?"

"About what?" I asked taking a sip from my mug of coffee.

"Caroline, I want a baby with you now. Why wait?" Rob asked

"Rob, I'm twenty-one years old, and you know I'm not exactly sure of my fertility" I said.

"So why not start trying? Just stop using protection and see what happens" Rob said. "It can't hurt."

"There's typically a certain way of doing things, you know you get engaged, and then you get married, and then you have a baby" I said. "I'm not really for us doing this backwards"

"Well then can we talk about doing things the right way. About us moving in together, and getting engaged?" Rob said, "because I want us to start talking about it."

"Rob, we're twenty-one and twenty-three, are you sure you're ready for that?" I asked.

"Babe, I'm ready for that, now. Do you know how much I want that. That I'm ready for us to have a life together instead of living apart so much" Rob said.

"Okay, well let's start talking about it. Openly and honestly."

"I love you" Rob said, putting his good arm around me.

"I love you too" I said resting my head on his chest.

"Will you go to the fertility doctor with me?" Rob asked. "So we can see what we're dealing with."

"Rob, we don't have time for this right now" I said "and I'm not really ready to face it."

"Why not?" Rob asked

"Rob, for ten years my way of dealing with my unknown situation was to say I wasn't sure if I wanted kids" I said "I don't want to find out right now."

"Okay" Rob said running his hand up and down my back. "But you know, I'm gonna love you no matter what. It would just make it easier to determine our next move."

"Rob, we just need to get our relationship to be really steady and really strong" I said, "that's what's important to me."

"And how would you like to do that?" He asked smiling.

"I think we communicate, and we learn what the other one needs to feel loved. Like for instance I know you need to, you need me to walk in the house and kiss you, and you need me to hold your hand or graze your shoulder when I walk by."

"And what do you need?" Rob asked, "how can I love you better?"

I thought for a second, "I need your patience and understanding. I love when you do the really small things that show you care, like giving me a back rub at night, or making the coffee in the morning. Or just knowing when I'm overwhelmed and taking a few things off my plate without asking."

"I wish I could give you a back massage right now" Rob said

I laughed, "Rob don't worry about it," I leaned in and kissed him.

"You think I can still get you off with one hand?" Rob asked with a smirk.

"I think that I'm supposed to be taking care of you right now" I said leaving a kiss on his cheek.

I got up walking into the kitchen, "babe, come back here and lay with me" Rob said.

"I love you" Rob said after I laid down on top of him, "you think we can maybe practice making a baby on this couch?"

"Do we need practice? I thought we were already pretty good at it?" I said with a laugh.

"Practice makes perfect" Rob said putting one hand underneath my shirt, well actually his shirt.

"It does doesn't it" I said with a laugh leaning in and kissing him.

"Caroline, who do I ask for your hand in marriage?" Rob asked

"My mother, and just so that my dad doesn't lose it, maybe check in with him. But most importantly my grandpa" I said, "and I would appreciate if you kinda checked in with the boys, they will think a lot of you checking in with them."

"So everyone" Rob said with a laugh.

"Yes, everyone" I said.

"Babe, that's okay, that's one of the things I've always loved about you, you're so family oriented" Rob said, sitting up "it's also one of the things that can really suck when I want you to myself. But I love the passion you have for your family."

"Rob, right now I really need your very strong hands on my body" I said, "I really, really don't want to talk. I don't have the mental capacity to do any more talking after all the emails I answered this morning."

"Well, someone sounds a little cranky and like they need to go back to bed" Rob said carrying me to his bedroom. I laughed, letting my head rest on his chest till he sat down on the bed.

He kissed me on the lips, his hands under my shirt, firm, they moved down removing my underwear.

"Babe, this isn't working, I'm taking too long" I said sitting up.

"Caroline, you have to relax" Rob said, "you aren't taking too long, I could do this all day."

"Rob" I said, "let's just move on. I'm taking too long."

"You aren't taking too long" Rob said, "sit back, and relax. You're never gonna get there if you're up tight."

"Rob" I said, "I can't help it, we need to move on."

"Caroline, you need to sit back and relax" Rob said, "I've got you."
