Hudson crawled into our bed around 3am, and Londyn woke up crying around 6am. I changed her diaper, before getting back into bed with her laying on my chest. I laid there quietly, trying not to wake Hudson up.
"That baby makes you look awful sexy" Rob said kissing my cheek.
"Shh, we shouldn't even be awake" I said closing my eyes.
"I'm hungry" Hudson said wide eyed.
"Come on bud, let's go get some cereal" Rob said taking him downstairs, I closed my eyes for a minute before getting up.
"Leslie and Jon will be over to get them at nine" I said walking downstairs.
"So we'll get them fed, we'll turn on barney, and we will enjoy our morning" Rob said handing me a cup of coffee and kissing my cheek. "Go sit, I can handle a bowl of cereal."
"What time will Jon and Leslie be here to get the kids?" Sam asked sitting down at the table.
Rob looked at me confused, "dude, did I miss something? Do you live here now?"
"Caroline didn't tell you that when I graduated in December, she said since she's barely here that I could just use the house. Especially sense I practically run her life for her."
Rob looked at me, "I totally forgot, we were busy with football, and your arm."
"Okay, we need to talk later today" Rob said looking at Sam. Rob turned to me, "I kinda remember you saying something about it, now that you mention it. It was during all the chaos when I broke my arm."
"Yeah, we should really try to lay out Caroline's schedule for the next year" Sam said.
"Is everyone coming over for breakfast?" I asked starting to wake up.
"I would say most likely" Sam said as my Papaw walked through the back door with two cartoons of eggs.
"Let's just go hang out in the family room, I'm not volunteering to cook anything this morning" I said moving.
Rob stood and talked to Papaw for a few minutes before moving into the family room and sitting down next to me.
I closed my eyes, enjoying sitting cuddled up with him. Till the rest of the troops arrived, and my house became a place full of life and family.
Bloody Mary's were being served, plates were being handed out. And the best part, I just got to sit there and hold sweet baby Londyn.
"Caroline you seem really calm today" Liz said.
"It's the baby" I said smiling.
"Yeah, as I'm seeing her stress level lower I'm thinking we need one real soon" Rob said jokingly.
"I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have the same effect if it was my own"
As everyone started to clean up, I was still content to just sit there and hold the baby. It was like I had an excuse not to help.
After everyone left, I still enjoyed just being curled up on the couch with Rob.
"I can't tell you the last time we got to spend time together and it was this calm" Rob said finally getting up and making himself a sandwich.
"I agree" I said cuddling into him and kissing him, kissing his neck.
"We've got the house all to ourselves" I said playing with his hair.
"And the time to actually take it slow" Rob said, his hands moving on my body.
I got off the couch, throwing on Rob's t-shirt, "we will have to get up soon and clean up, everyone's coming over for dinner tonight."
"Mhm" Rob said nuzzling into me when I laid back down on the couch.
After a few minutes, I felt like I needed to get moving. "I'm going to go take a shower," I said getting up and heading upstairs.
Heading back downstairs in one of Rob's sweatshirts, "babe, come cuddle" Rob said patting the spot next to him.
"Okay" I said getting comfy. I closed my eyes, feeling his strong arms around me.
"You two have barely moved from that couch" Papaw said with a laugh, walking in.
"I'm enjoying my lazy day" I said, not getting up.
"Stay there, enjoy" Papaw said, heading for the kitchen, and our house filled up once again.
"I love this" I said, "just being here."
"You two look like you're ready for bed" Sam said with a laugh.
Tami and my mom came in and sat on the other couch. "You finally seem calm"
"Because I am" I said "we tried to get some wedding stuff done today."
"And do we have a date?" my mom asked.
"Not really, next summer" I said, "maybe May or June so we have some time before football season is in full swing."
"Or we could do it tomorrow in the backyard" Rob said with a laugh.
"I'm in" I said finally having to get up.
"Caroline" Rob whispered in my ear, "let's go to bed."
"Alright" I said nodding my head and getting up.
Getting into bed, I smiled at finally feeling like my family is all here.
"You with Hudson might be the hottest thing I've ever seen" I said feeling him wrap his arms around me.
"Not as hot as you cooking in the kitchen" he kissed my shoulder.
"Rob, come on, we left my family cleaning up in the kitchen. Sam sleeps down the hall" I said, "and I'm really fricken tired."
"I know, I just still want to be able to love on you" he said kissing my neck. I let out a very obvious sigh, "I know, I know. I love you, get some sleep."
"Thank you for not pressuring me" I said closing my eyes.
"Babe, I don't ever mean to pressure you." Rob said holding me tight.
"I know, and I know it's with good intentions. It's how you love, but especially when we're here, I have a hard time remembering that."
"You've done good this trip" Rob said "you've done really really good at just being really even."
