As we made it to the restaurant, I was confident in the fact that Rob and I were on good terms, I made an effort to hold his hand as we walked inside, and sit next to him at the table.
After when we went shopping, much to the boys protest, he made an effort to entertain them, by taking them over to a bar.
"Caroline, I just wish you were home more" Liz said,
"Me too" I said flipping through the racks.
"Do you think you'll move home when you and Rob have a baby?" Liz asked, I stiffened, that's right, she was asleep when I told Max and Sam that my fertility was uncertain.
"I don't know, there won't be babies any time soon" I said, "why don't you try this on?" I held up a fun top.
"Okay!" Liz said adding it to her stack.
When we finally got to meet the boys at the bar, it was almost dinner time. I walked up behind Rob's chair, wrapping my arms around his neck, I left a kiss on his cheek. "Sorry it took so long."
"We've been all good, just hanging here" Rob said.
"So, dinner?" Max asked.
"Let's just order carry out and go home" I said, "I've been out and about enough today. I'm tired of being followed."
"We can order carry out and you two can have date night if you want to go out?" Sam asked.
"We can have date night when you all aren't here, let's just head home" Rob said getting up.
"You sure about that?" I asked grabbing his hand as we walked out.
"It's what you want right? You only get a few days with them" Rob said, throwing his arm around my shoulder.
"Thank you" I said
After picking up carry out, we walked into the apartment.
While the boys sat at the table, Rob made drinks, and Liz and I organized the food.
"Now listen, only one glass, or your sister will have my head" Rob said handing Liz a glass of wine.
"Rob" I said more shocked than anything.
"Caroline, it's only one glass" Rob said leaning in for a kiss.
"It's not your decision to make" I said straight face, pissed.
"One glass isn't going to hurt, we were drinking at her age" Sam said "don't take it out on Rob."
"Someone has to be the responsible one" I said shaking my head.
"Well tonight, it's not you" Rob said, "it's one glass of wine."
"Only one" I said looking at her.
"Relax" she said rolling her eyes.
"I'm going to go put on comfy clothes" I said, "and then well be ready to eat."
"I'm going to go make sure she isn't pissed at me" I heard Rob say with a chuckle. And then our door opened.
"Caroline, you can't have it both ways, you told me to treat her like my own family, to treat them all like my own family" Rob said
"Right, but you just way overstepped" I said, "don't you think you should have asked me first?"
"You told me to treat her like my own" Rob said, "I wouldn't ask you before giving my own brother something."
"I'm not mad, I'm just annoyed, just let me change, I'll be out in a second" I said.
"I love you" he said before opening the door
"I love you too."
Making small talk over dinner, I got to relax, and even play a little footsie with Rob.
We sat down to watch Saturday Night Live, and I relaxed into Rob, cuddling on the couch.
"Babe, let's go to bed' I said getting up, "before we fall asleep."
Rob nodded his head getting up, "Goodnight, you all should go to bed too, before you fall asleep out here." I said walking into our room.
I went into our bathroom washing my face and brushing my teeth, when I walked out Rob is laying in bed.
"I would say pretty successful day" I said getting into bed, straddling his waist.
"Yeah, your brothers and I definitely get along now" Rob said
"Yes, they do, thank you for being for the most part, really helpful today. It's nice, when we can approach things as a team."
"I like you just like this okay? You don't need to go back to going to the gym more" Rob said, resting his hand on my hip.
"I'm sorry that I said you weren't my top priority today, when we were arguing" I said
"It's true, I should have been unified with you in helping you to enjoy this weekend with your family. I was being selfish" Rob said, "but I also should be a priority, we are getting married."
"I love you" I said leaning in and kissing him. I pulled away, "I have a suggestion" I said Rob looked at me, waiting for me to say more, "I think we should try to have sex, everyday for a month, starting the day they leave."
Rob looked at me kinda surprised, "are you sure?"
"I'm positive" I said, "fun little promise for us to make. Maybe it will even form a habit. Do you want to give it a try?" I asked
"Sounds like a deal to me" Rob said, "I mean your straddling me right now, I kinda feel like I'm at your mercy."
"Well your lucky I'm not in a sweatsuit sense Liz made me feel real sexy today" I said sarcastically.
"That doesn't matter, because I find you so sexy" Rob said letting this his hand go around and grab my butt.
"This is your happy, isn't it?" I asked.
"Caroline, I feel the most loved when your body is against mine" Rob said, "so yeah, I'm pretty happy."
"And I'm pretty happy that you were so helpful today" I said with a laugh.
"Guess we're pretty happy people" he said goofily, pulling me down for another kiss.
