Boston (Book 2 Rob and Caroline)

Compromising

I felt a kiss on my lips, "good morning sleepy" Rob said.

I sat up in bed smiling, "are you going to bring me coffee in bed every morning in Boston."

"If that's the little thing that shows you every day that I love you, I'll bring you coffee in bed every day" he said holding my hand.

"Let's head downstairs," I got out of bed walking down the stairs.

"You two have any ideas for a date?" Liz asked as I sat down on the couch cuddling into Rob.

"Not really, I'm not in a hurry" I said looking at Rob.

"I mean not during football season, maybe in the spring so we will have time to just enjoy being married instead of being thrown into football right after." Rob said.

"I can't wait to start planning" my mom said getting excited.

"Yeah, so just lets keep this off social media for right now, okay? Just let us have our time" I said getting a blanket, I'm so cold and I wish it was summer again already. Rob held me against him tight.

"You want eggs?" Papa asked from the kitchen.

"Not right now" I said just enjoying where I am.

"When do you leave?" I asked

"Sunday morning" Rob said, "oh come on babe don't give me that look" he said.

"I'll see you on the tenth" I said with a sigh.

"Maybe it's time to reevaluate you moving in again" Rob said, smiling at me.

"I didn't think this engagement meant you were moving to Boston?" Liz asked

"We're working on finding a compromise" I said looking at Rob.

"Right, but there's really no compromising right" Sam said, "I mean Rob has to be in Boston."

"As of right now, I'm not moving anywhere. We still need to discuss it" I said trying to ease everyone's concern.

"Ideally our plan is to spend January through June wherever Caroline needs to be together, and September through December in Boston together" Rob said, "that's the best compromise we can come up with."

"What about when you have kids, they can't live half the year in one state and the other half in another" my mom said, "that doesn't work for school."

"If kids become involved we will have to reevaluate and do some sacrificing when they get to be school age" I said

"Is there any potential for you to transfer to the Bengals" Sam said, "make it easier for you two to set some roots."

"I really like where I'm at" Rob said, "we'll figure it out."

"Guys, I want to relax. Please no more talk on where I'm living" I said, "I've lived like a nomad for a long time. It's not changing yet."

"Will you at least start leaving clothes at my house" Rob said, "because it's getting ridiculous watch you pack and unpack."

I thought for a second, "I guess you should clear out a drawer" I said smiling at him. He leaned in and kissed me, "alrighty you two, would you at least get a room" Max said.

"We're just working on making those babies everyone's always pressuring me about" I said jokingly.

"Alright, too far" Sam said

I laughed, "I've got to go work for like an hour, and then I'm going to get my day moving" I said standing up stretching.

"Just take today off" Rob said looking at me.

"It's just an hour" I said getting a yogurt out of the fridge wrapping my blanket around myself tighter.

"Alright, well I'm joining you" Rob said following me up the stairs.

I walked into my room getting out my laptop.

"Let me give you a massage" Rob said laying down on the bed.

"Babe, you don't need to do that, and you only have one hand" I said with a laugh.

"Can we talk?" Rob asked, "for a minute before you start working."

"Sure" I said shutting my laptop.

"Can we stop not trying for a baby" Rob asked.

"Rob, let's just enjoy being engaged for a little bit" I said putting my hand on his.

"Doesn't it take a few months to be able to get pregnant after going off the pill anyways?" Rob asked

"Well, mines a pretty low dose, and ideally I won't go off it unless we really are trying" I said

"Why?" Rob asked

"Well, I have endometriosis, so I have really bad period cramps" I said, "like debilitating."

"Okay" Rob said, "well what if we really are trying?"

"Then I'll go off birth control and have to deal with it for a few months" I said

"Can we take the first step and stop using condoms?" Rob asked, "please."

He held my hand in his.

"Rob, I just it makes me really nervous" I said, "I won't be able to relax."

"You're on birth control, and we're engaged" Rob said, "please?"

"Okay" I said with a sigh, "but I'm not going off birth control till we are married and ready to seriously talk about babies."

"Can we go see the fertility doctor next time you're in Boston?" Rob asked

"I will work on going to see a fertility doctor" I said, "there's one I know of in Nashville that comes highly recommended."

I let out a sigh, "Rob, I was just really relaxed this morning" I said closing my eyes.

"Well get you back to that place" Rob said kissing me. "We're getting married."

"We're getting married" I said with a laugh.
