*Two weeks have passed*
Stepping off the airplane at eleven p.m. on Thursday night, it's time to let the week long 4th of July festivities begin.
Getting in the SUV, I just closed my eyes.
Finally getting to the house, I opened my eyes and dragged my body inside. Rob's sitting on the couch and he got up, greeting me with a hug.
"Where's Diane?" I asked
"She left this morning babe" Rob said kissing my cheek.
I closed my eyes, "I don't know why, I thought she was leaving on Friday. Can we just go to bed?"
"Of course" Rob said, holding me close.
Pulling off my leggings, I moved stiffly. Working out while I was in Nashville this week, I must have overdone it. Pulling on a pair of little pj shorts, I grabbed one of Rob's shirts out of his drawer and crawled into bed, laying my head on Rob's chest.
Rob played with my hair, "Tomorrow morning, I have therapeutic massages scheduled at the house at ten. No one from your family will be down till seven pm at the earliest, and they will all be eating before they get here. Sam said you had a really stressful week, so tomorrow it's all off, the phone, the laptop, everything, I've been given strict orders to help you decompress."
"I think I'm doing pretty good, I walked in and I went from working to laying in bed with you, and you know I have a really hard time making that transition."
"You still seem wound pretty tight" Rob said.
I let out a sigh, rolling over to turn off my bedside lamp and deciding to just stay on my side of the bed after.
"Babe, you seem stressed" Rob said wrapping his arms around me from behind, and leaving a kiss on the back of my neck.
"Rob, of course I'm stressed, I went back to work for the first time in awhile."
"Please don't pull away" Rob said, placing his hand on top of mine.
"Please just understand that I'm trying, I did walk in here and put on my happy face and get in bed and snuggle for you."
"You don't need to put on a happy face around me" Rob said
"Let's just get some sleep, please" I said closing my eyes and trying to relax.
"I love you" Rob whispered holding me tight.
