Boston (Book 2 Rob and Caroline)

Fun

I woke up and moved inside to the main house. Starting breakfast and watching the news.

Sam walked in, "everything okay with you right now?"

"Yeah, I'm just really tired" I said, "and you know things between Rob and I are good, but they aren't great. I'm a little nervous to be in Boston. And I'm still pretty pissed about him not taking care of his body."

Rob walked in, "why didn't you wake me up?"

"I just figured I would start on breakfast" I said moving to the couch now that it's all done.

"Want to walk the beach?" He asked standing in front of me.

"I guess" I said getting up.

"Why are you being funny?" Rob asked as we walked out.

"I don't know, I guess I'm just tired" I said.

"Caroline"

"I just really would have been content to sit and talk with Sam and everyone for a few minutes."

"I thought it would be good for us to get out and do something" Rob said

"I didn't say it wasn't,"

"Baby, you really have to relax. You are still so up tight" Rob said

"Rob, I got in yesterday. You were on me from the minute I walked in, and I put on the good girlfriend face all day. I just need to decompress, okay? Don't touch me, don't put anything on me. Just let me be."

"I just get excited when I have time with you" Rob said stopping and looking at me.

"I know, and I understand that, but I take longer to get comfortable, okay? And right now, I'm just still not relaxed."

"Okay," he said "would just being able to walk by yourself for a little while help?"

"Yeah, I just need to decompress. You know how it is. I just got back."

"I'll see you back at the house" Rob said kissing my forehead, "I love you." He turned around and headed back.

Rob's pov.

"I guess Caroline didn't take it well?" Chris asked.

Oh, he's talking about my back surgery, "no, I haven't gotten to tell her yet. I was going to, but then I could just tell that I shouldn't add that onto her right now."

Sam looked at me confused, "I have to have back surgery, and I haven't told Caroline yet." I said, "and I know that she is going to flip."

"Yeah, um she is not going to be happy that's for sure, just this morning she said she was frustrated that you aren't taking care of your body."

"I'm gonna take her to lunch today and tell her" I said, "I just gotta get this out of the way, because if I don't tell her till the end of this trip. She's going to be even more mad."

"Why aren't you walking with her?" Dan asked

"She's just still decompressing from working" Rob said, "which I don't get because she was awesome yesterday, but I have a feeling she had on a mask for me yesterday."

"Let me talk to her when she gets back" Sam said, "I'll try to get her back to herself. What I'd be the most worried about if I were you, because I know you were kinda expecting that this long distance thing was over and you were going to be in Nashville together or in Boston together, but if you aren't playing, I wouldn't be surprised if she said sorry, I'm not coming up to Boston while you're injured."

"Which is concerning" I said, "because we can't sustain our relationship like this, I mean after she's been gone for a month it takes two weeks to get her back to normal and to get our relationship back on track. It's not instant."
