Back to normal

I got out of bed, my Fitbit vibrated to wake me up.

Sleepily walking into the kitchen, I made a pot of coffee and watched Sam, Max, and Liz pack up to leave.

"Call me if you need anything, okay?" Sam said standing in the kitchen.

I nodded my head, "I will" I said

"You seem happy?" He looked at me for confirmation.

"I am happy, it's nice to not come home to an empty house" I said.

I gave hugs and they left, getting back into bed, Rob wrapped his arms around me.

"I miss them already" I whispered.

"They're only a phone call away" Rob said rubbing my back. "And not that I didn't enjoy having them visit. But now we get our home back, I can walk around in my boxers any time I want."

That comment made me laugh.

"So we have the day to kinda relax, I'm not going in till noon, and we have dinner with the Bryans" I said burying my head in his chest.

"Were you serious about that sex every day for a month?" Rob asked

"Yeah, I think that's the only way we can form a new habit" I said rolling over and curling up in a ball, I just need a few more minutes of sleep.

Rob was quiet and I continued to attempt to sleep some more. When I felt his arms wrap around me from behind. Kisses starting on my neck and his hands playing with the waist band of my shorts.

"I guess you want to start now"

"Well babe, I've been thinking about getting to have sex with you again since the minute your family got here" Rob said, "and I think we actually have really good lazy early morning sex."

"Well yeah, because we haven't started our days yet and there's nothing else to worry about" I said

"Caroline, calm down" he said placing his hand on my arm, this isn't a time for discussion.

He kissed my neck. Feeling his chest against my back and his hand between my legs.

"Morning sex way more often" Rob said as we walked into the kitchen.

"Morning sex again and again" I said in agreement making myself a cup of coffee.

"We could do it again right now" Rob said wrapping his arms around me from behind.

"I think I want to get a workout in, and then I should get into work" I said relaxing into him.

I looked at the time, 10:30am, "actually I don't even have time for a workout. I'm just going to take a shower, get ready, eat lunch, and then get out of here."

"Just chill out for a few minutes" Rob said holding me against him.

"Rob, I need to go to work for a little bit" I said with a laugh.

"And what time are you going to be home?" He asked.

"I'll be home around fiveish" I said sitting on the counter.

"We're good right?" He asked standing in between my legs.

"Yes we are good" I said leaning in and kissing him.

"Things were still rough when your family was here. Just wanted to make sure there's nothing we need to air out"

"Well, I'm not super happy that you gave Liz a glass of wine" I said

"Caroline it was one glass of wine" Rob said with an eye roll.

"You should have asked me first" I said, "you over stepped."

"I know it's your family, but I was just, I guess I didn't think" Rob said, "I'm sorry I should have asked you."

I leaned in and kissed him, "I've got to get a shower and get going" I said when I pulled away.

Walking into our bedroom I started getting ready.

As if I finished my make up Rob wrapped his arms around me, "when are you going to start wearing your engagement ring?" He asked leaning on leaving a kiss on my neck.

"Rob, not now" I said "I've got to get going." Trying to get him to stop kissing my neck. He pulled away looking at me, "I thought we were trying to keep this quiet? The minute I wear that ring, it's out."

"I know" he said, "I'm just proud."

He sat on the side of the bathtub watching me get ready.

"So you'll be back at five?" He asked, "and we'll head over to Luke and Caroline's."

"Yep" I said getting my purse together, "love you, bye" I kissed his cheek hurrying out.

Getting home I was tired, "which bottle of wine?" Rob asked holding two up.

"The red" I said sitting down, petting Roxy.

"How was work?" Rob said sitting down really close to me.

"Rob, I just got home" I said closing my eyes, "just give me a few minutes."

"Are you too tired for dinner tonight?" Rob asked looking concerned.

"Rob, no, but you know just give me a few minutes" I said, "I'm gonna go freshen up and then I'll be ready to go." I got up off the couch walking into our bedroom.

"Babe, you've got to chill out" Rob said walking into the bathroom.

"I am chill, I'm just not in a touchy mood" I said looking at him in the mirror.

He looked at me, "Caroline you've only been back to working for five hours and you already are doing it."

I turned around looking at him, "Can't you just, not hold me to such a high standard, please."

"You're pushing me out" Rob said.

"I'm not pushing you out, I've only been home thirty minutes, just give me some time to relax. Don't get so sensitive over me not being touchy the minute I get home."

Rob was quiet, "Caroline, I just don't want to see you overwork yourself."

I walked over, "I worked five hours today," I put my hands on his shoulders, "I am perfectly fine."

"You promise?"

"I promise" I said leaning in and kissing him. "Now promise me, next time I don't come in and go straight for the hello kiss, you won't throw a temper tantrum."

"Caroline" Rob said

"Don't get upset that I'll call you on your bullshit" I said, "next time if I reject you the first time, just give me a few minutes instead of getting all pissy, remember, I really appreciate when you are patient."

"Okay, I'm sorry" Rob said, "I just, you working and sometimes the amount that you work. I worry about you."

I grabbed my purse, "let's go."

"Caroline, just slow down" Rob said grabbing my arm, I turned around and he pulled me into him.

"I just don't want us to get into that working cycle babe" Rob said holding me tight.

"Rob, I'm trying here okay? When you initiate I'm thinking do I have a really good reason to say no instead of do I have a really good reason to say yes. I'm coming home early, I'm leaving later in the morning. But it's still, you know I just get high strung when I'm working, and getting mad at me for it doesn't make it any better."

"I'm just happy to have your family gone" Rob said.

"I know, and I appreciate how great you were with them, but you know how patient Sam is with me, I need that."

"No I don't know, because he's a dick when I'm around" Rob said I raised an eyebrow at him, "let's just get going."
