Chapter 87

SAMMIE POV:

"He eventually left us alone and then..."

I couldn't bring it out. I couldn't speak, I couldn't show any emotions, I just kept quiet but my mind was racing.

"Sammie, it's okay. I will get you something to drink and then we'll continue. Can I get you anything else?" Wilmer asked, I just nodded my head.

I don't want to do anything at this moment. I just want to lay down in my own bed with one hundred different pillows and blankets. Not having to get out of it for the rest of the month would be great too.

I'm just trying to distract myself from myself.

"You still up to talk? We can do it another time if you want." Max said. "No thank you. I'll do it now." I said.

After I told my story to Wilmer, the tears wouldn't stop rolling down my face and then I eventually found myself in Marissa's arms.

"It's going to be okay darling." She whispered and hugged me tight.

"Mom?" I asked her. "What is it sweetheart?"

"Can you please sleep with me tonight?"

"Of course. We both will." She said and looked at Demi. "Thank you." I slightly smiled at them.

I tried to sleep on the way home but I couldn't. I guess this is gonna happen all night long. Flashbacks just keep coming by and I can't stop it.

"We're home love." I heard Demi say. She took my hand to help me out of the car. We walked up to the front door of the hotel and once I was inside I just collapsed against the wall.

"Let's get you upstairs." Marissa said,  picked me up and held me in her arms. Once we were in my room I waited for Marissa to get out but I also didn't want her to leave.

"Go change baby. I'll wait right here." She said and sat on the bed, looking into the other direction.

Don't get me wrong, I usually don't have a problem with changing when they are around but I just... I don't know. I don't feel safe with anyone at this point.

I quickly changed into my PJ's and walked up to Marissa. "Thank you." I whispered and hugged her.

"Hey." Demi said as she walked in. "You feeling a bit better love?" She asked me, I just shrugged. "I guess." I said.

"Try to get some rest. We'll be right here." She said and gave me a kiss on the forehead. "Sleep well Sam." She smiled and then changed into her PJ's.

Not much later we were laying together.

I guess it took me a few hours, but I could finally feel myself drifting off to Dreamland.

-- Next day --

"Morning sleepyhead." I heard someone say as I tried to open my eyes. "Morning." I yawned.

"Did you sleep well?" Demi asked. "Not that well." I shrugged. "Where's Marissa?"

"She went to a meeting about 2 hours ago." Demi said. "Why's that?" I asked her. "Because we're not doing the show tonight."

"Why not? We can still do it Dems. You know I hate canceling things." I mumbled the last part.

"Yeah but you have to rest Sam. It's not nothing what has happened yesterday." Just to be reminded of what happened, great. "I know but I just want to get my mind off things and that's actually the only way to do that right now." I said.

"If you're really up for it and if you think you can do it, I'll give Marissa a call. But if you're not su-"

"I'm sure Dems. Call Marissa." I said before she could finish.

"I'll be back in a minute. Go take a shower babe." She said and walked away.

I decided to go take a quick shower and then get something to eat for both of us.

About half an hour later, Marissa walked in.

"Are you 100% sure Sam?" She asked me. "I am mom, thank you for the concern but I'm fine." I said, a bit too fast. "You know our deal, don't hide your feelings or emotions." She sternly said. "I won't." I gave her a hug.

"I want to get something to eat downstairs, you guys want anything?" I asked them. "Yeah, I'll go with you." Demi said and Marissa just nodded. She's already awake for a long time.

We walked downstairs and got us something to eat. Demi got a sandwich with mozzarella, tomato and dressing. I got a sandwich with cheese, tomato and cucumber.

"How are you feeling?" Demi said as we sat down and took my hand. "I'm okay, I guess. I don't really know. I'm just trying to distract myself." I looked down.

"I understand love. If you need someone who listens, you know where to find me." She smiled.

"Can I change the setlist for tonight? Just for tonight, the other shows will remain the usual." I quickly asked. "Yeah I think so. What do you want to change?" She asked.

"I haven't figured it out yet, but I want to change something." I simply said. "Just let everyone know at least 3 hours before the show so they can change things as well." Demi said and finished her sandwich.

As I finished my sandwich we cleaned up after us and then went back to our room.

I took the setlist and checked what I could possibly change.

I decided to change number 6 and 14. They are quite different songs. 6 is such a slow love song and 14 is more likely an upbeat song.

I've decided that I want to raise money for those in need. It's just very important so I want to take time to put a big screen on with a number they can donate money on.

I'm going to replace one song with another one. I'll be singing Rise Up by Andra Day.

I'm quite happy with this one. It just means a lot to me at the moment.

I'll be raising money for those in need. Those who have experienced the same as I have, or worse.

I'll be raising money for people who got raped.
