"You sure that Luke wouldn't mind you being here with me, right now?" Connor asked for the hundredth time, "and what is that on your hand?"

I covered my bandaged wrist right away. "Nah, don't worry I'm fine" I laugh, "and Luke wouldn't care" I know that he wouldn't. He's not my boyfriend or whatever to tell me what I should do or not to do.

It's currently 1:03 pm and Connor and I are walking our way to the tallest building I've ever seen here in Brooklyn. Since I haven't got the time to really explore the place then nobody could tell me otherwise.

"So this is where you work?" My jaw almost drop on the floor as we enter the huge building. Everything's in chrome, the chairs are white and everything seems like it's made from glass. A tall blonde lady approaches our way, I felt intimidated and not properly dressed. I was wearing my casual clothes. A printed shirt and my old jeans.

"Afternoon, Angela!" Connor greeted as we make our way to the elevator.

"Hey Connor, it's your day off right?" The words escape her perfectly red tinted lips.

"Yeah, but I need to meet with Tony tho." He answered right before the elevator door closed.

We ended up on the 11th floor of the building.

Toni was an old lady with magenta colored hair. She reminded me of Michael. Michael I miss him so much, I feel bad about it.

"Hey Toni! How are you?"

"Oh Connor, you shouldn't be here today, it's your day off!" The old lady exclaims at Connor.

"I know but remember what I was telling you the other day? About my friend applying here?"

The old lady nodded,

"Well, here she is" Connor motioned towards me.

I gave the old lady the sweetest smile I could every plaster on my face.

"Hello, ma'am" I greeted,

"Oh shush!" The old lady took me by surprise when she hug me. "Just call me Toni, okay? If you're Connor's friend then I like you already" she pulls away with a big smile on her face.

"Here's her resume, Toni" Connor handed her all my files and the old lady took it all in delight.

"Oh, that's lovely, I'll give you a call later tonight" she smiles,

We had a little chat and they gave me a tour, Connor let me in his own office, I was even surprised that he has an office.

By the time we got out of the building it was barely 3 in the afternoon.

"What time is the football game, tonight?" He asks as we walk back into my car.

"7" I shrugged.

"Are you going?"

"No, I think I'll pass I need to catch up with some of my homework" I lied, I just don't have a reason to go to the games, why should I? I'll just see Luke there anyways.

"You sure?"

I nodded. "But if you're going then I guess I'll just drop you off the field then."

"Really? Okay then! That'd be great!"

The rest of the car ride was silent and convenient, it was only 20 minutes away from CUNY.

I stopped by the nearest lot near the field where the game are going to be held to drop Connor off.

"Thanks! You take care now, I'll call you" He muttered before closing the car door.

I can hear the crowd going crazy, allot of screaming and cheering, the yells from the cheer leaders song and loud music, it's just about to start.

I have two choices, watch the game and be supportive of my school or be alone behind my laptop's monitor watching sappy love stories on Netflix.

I groaned in frustration. I got out of the car with no peace of mind or even a brain not knowing what's going to happen.

I find my way to Connor who was in the middle of a sea of people who just smells so bad.

"I thought you said you're not going to come?" He shouted, the crowd was loud making it really impossible for me to hear.

"I thought so too" I mumbled,

"What?" He exclaimed trying to cover his ears,

"Nothing I said let's find an empty seat!!"

After a little walk we found ourselves settling down on the upper bleachers.

"Wow this spot is cool, I could see everything" He laughs,

I nodded.

But suddenly my stomach starts to churn when I saw something unpleasant.

Luke was standing beside a cheerleader. Tall, skinnier, a brunette and she's 100% better than me.

An acid pit started to form inside me like my heart was going to burst any second as I watch the girl wipe Luke's sweat on his cheek using a damp towel.

My heart is melting at the sight of them. I don't to see them doing that in front of me. I feel used and broken.

He seems like he was enjoying her company, he was..happy. Why shouldn't he be? We only got a fight last night, why would he feel devastated like he should be if he's a normal person with a heart, but he is not. He's numb and I am no one to him, I am nothing.

I wiped the tear that escaped my left eye right away before someone could see it.

I made a quick eye contact with Ashton before running away.

"Phoebe! Wait! Where are you going?" Connor shouted but I didn't look back, I'm too hurt, too broken to look back now.

"Wait!!" I can hear him shout but it was faint.

I made my way towards my car and drove back to my sorority house before I let my tears fall down.

When I arrive the whole house was empty, of course it is empty, everyone is out to watch that damned game!

I run my way to the hallway and plopped myself on my bed as I struggle to breath my heart aching.

I know I shouldn't feel this way because he wasn't doing anything with that girl who's face I remember now, she was the girl at the party, the one who was straddling Luke. How can I be this naive and stupid?

I can hear my own muffled crying as I wet my sheets with my tears.

My head hurts and my heart feels like its going to burst out of my chest.

I hear some running footsteps coming from outside but I didn't mind if until my door open.

I jumped out of bed before I could notice the familiar pale blue eyes I've came to know.

"L-Luke?" I croaked, my vision blurry from all the tears my eyes just made.
