STORYTIME!

Roman grew up in a place where he was told all throughout his childhood that he must be a man. He must charm women, he must be physically strong, he must hide all negative emotions, and that he must be chivalrous. He must be a good Catholic Boi and he must be 100% Straight. But... Roman's not. Hes not straight. He still does everything on that list and is even happy with part of it (physically fit and chivalrous), but... he's not straight.

"Hey, lets go to pride."

"Are you sure that's a good idea? They do all these media things and my parents and... are you absolutely sure?"

"No."

"Are you being sarcastic or are you being serious?"

"What do you think, love? Why would I ever bring up something I think you'd adore only for me to shoot down the idea and say we can't do it because of such trivial reasons about religion or whatever. Yeah, sure, I'm definately trolling you."

"Alright... then let's go to pride."

Roman wasn't sure, but he did what he always did and feigned confidence. He bought all these rainbow makeups and clothes, but hid them at his boyfriend's house just in case. He boasted about he'd be the Gayest Disney Prince ever wnd how he would be a prince for everyone at Pride and make so many people happy, including and especially his boyfriend who goes by Deceit because fuck gender. Nobody knows what he is and he thinks it's funny. Plus he hates his birth name. Just... who names a child Aquarius?!

"You're definately nervous, Roman."

"How did you know? I thought I was doing a really good job of hiding it this time. Ha ha... but yeah, I'm nervous. How could I not be? I've never been to any sort of Queer event. What's if I do something  wrong?"

"You won't, Darling. I can promise you that. Just be yourself, have fun, and give me loads of rainbow smears from your lipstick."

"Heh, you never cease to make me laugh with your sassy little flirtatious jokes~"

"Oh no I'm serious. I want you to kiss my neck in front of everyone~ It's all supposed to be fun, gay, and it'd make the homophobes mad. Especially if someone makes a YouTube video. You'd be the famous rainbow prince who kissed his... other prince at Pride."

"That sounds freaking awesome, love. And it's going all over my instagram! I'm going to have the best makeup and be the most fabulous Prince in the entire world! Just for you~"

Roman booped his nose, even though his boyfriend was a few inches taller than him. Then again... Roman is Five foot eight. Both of them are tol boyfriends. Deceit would keep giving him confidence and reassurance that he was going to do great. Deceit kept holding him, praising him, and making sure that he knew everything was going to be okay. And Roman did believe it! He really did!

...until the car ride. The doubt comes in and clouds the mind. Doubt comes in... Roman doesn't need exactly remember the lyrics to that particular Hadestown Song. Not one of his favorites. They got to the hotel and Roman settled in with his boyfriend. This is where they're going to stay for an entire week, this is where Roman basically comes out to the entire world and faces the internal conflict inside of him involving his catholic upbringing and the clashing moralities inside of his heart.

"What if they don't like me, Dee?"

"I'm positive that everyone at the parade is going to love you, but not as much as I love you. That's when I start filing my nails and slicing necks."
