It's been way too long since I've done this amazing ship. And I really need to do more pride AUs like this. I often neglect representing my own sexuality as a main focus because I feel a lot that I'm faking it because I also like boys (I'm a cis female) and yeah. So here's to that.

STORYTIME!

Roman and Dee were happy together, that should be all that matters right? Wrong apparently. Because everyone had been gossiping about them the second someone saw the two hold hands and saw Roman kiss Dee on the cheek after escorting him to a class. One of their mutual friends, Virgil, was so confused. Why? Because the two of them had have girlfriends before and told him all about their crushes on a girl! Before coming to the academy but still! So how can they like eachother? Are they gay? Are they straight? Nobody knows! And that's the tea, sis.

So for the sake of killing off the rumors, because none of this is canon in the school yet, Virigl volunteered to Patton and Logan that he'd get to the bottom of this. After all this is a boarding school for gifted and talented boys. The entire school had never heard of two boys being in a relationship before. Virgil was really anxious about asking for a really good reason. I mean, he has a huge crush on his best friend too but he's not gay. He's liked girls too. Like that one cute girl Fionna from his band back when he went to public school. She had a cat named cake and long blonde hair and she was cuuuuuuuuute. So he's not just asking now to settle rumors, but he's kinda asking for himself too.

So Virgil sucked up his social anxiety and approached Roman and Dee at lunch. They were sitting with Roman's twin brother Remus, who has a mustache. Roman always complains that Remus has facial hair and he doesn't, but Dee always hikes with him that he definitely needs facial hair to be a more masculine, attractive man. Maybe that Lowkey flirting should have been a better hint that the two were romantically involved...

"If it isn't Virgil! My my, isn't this expected? Remus? Roman? Should we pull a Mean Girls and tell him that he can't sit with us?"

"Actually, Dee-"

"Remus don't."

"Virgil can't sit anywhere! He has H E M M E R H O I D S"

Roman groaned, hiding his face in his hands in annoyance at his brother's vine reference. Vine was so dead, Why reference if any more? Roman was a Tik Tok Overwatch EBoy kind of dude while Remus was a Vine IFunny YouTube Commenter kind of guy. So similar but do different. Virgil snickered and took his seat anyway, not minding one bit. He decided just to get it over with and just bring up the conversation topic. He was a man on a mission and he just needed to blurt it out, yeah? Roman and Dee won't mind, right?

"So, uh, Dee and Roman. Are you two, err, are you... gay?"

They hardly seemed astonished or taken aback by the question. It was like a lot of people have asked them that very same question. It was kind of weird. Roman was the first one to talk, grinning like he was happy to answer this.

"Actually, I'm Pansexual and he's bisexual! Knowing how limited knowledge is about stuff like this I'll be happy to explain it! So when I look at a person I don't care about their sex, gender, pronouns, anything like that. I don't care about anything physical and I have no preference. I can be attracted to literally anyone! As long as I like who you are and how you treat me then I can be attracted to you! But that doesn't mean I will be attracted to everyone. It's just a love that knows no bounds! Dee, do you want to explain Bisexuality to Virgil or am I doing a good enough job."

"Not enthusiastic enough, Darling. Let me do this in a way that's easier for someone ignorant to terminology and sexuality to understand: Pansexuality is that you can love everyone with no preference at all. Bisexuality is liking two or more genders and having a preference, even if that's preference is evenly split. Pronouns and gender and sex actually factors into it. It's like you have a type of person you generally like. Pansexuality doesn't exactly have that so to say. But I'm the dumbest terms for your feeble brain: We like both."

Both? You can do that? You can like boys and girls? You can have a preference and a type and be bi or have no preference at all and be Pan? Well, Virigl has a type. He doesn't exactly care if they're a girl or a boy but he generally likes people to be smaller than him. He likes feeling tall and wider than someone. Patton is perfect. So he can like Patton and still not be gay? He looked down at his food for a second, soaking everything in. He looked up and saw Dee watching him with a stoic, curious expression that rivaled Logan and Roman grinning from ear to ear, waiting for what Virgil had to say on the matter. Virgil's heart raced. Wow, you can like both. Virgil can't believe it. He has never heard of that before.

"You can like both?"

"Of course you can! You didn't know that, Virgil?"

Virgil shook his head, falling silent. Maybe he should go. He just stood up, leaving the cafeteria food on the table for Remus to eat like a bottom feeder and he left to go find Patton and tell him about Bisexuality and Pansexuality. That label... bisexuality... you can like both. That just resonated with Virgil. He was allowed to like Patton. Roman and Dee watched him walk away, fiddling with his sleeves and sitting down in between Patton and Logan. Dee chuckled, Roman not understanding what was so amusing to his amazing boyfriend. He folded his hands like a bridge and rested his chin on the back of them, narrowing his eyes to watch Virgil turn to Patton and start talking. 

"It looks like our friend Virgil has finally broken from the cocoon and is ready to explore his bisexuality. I told you he liked Patton. You owe me ten bucks."

Roman licked the front of his teeth, seeing where his boyfriend was going with this. So that's the dirty game he's gonna play, huh?

"I'm the one who said he was closer Bi for Patton! You said he was closet Bi for Logan. That means I was more right than you and you have to pay me twenty bucks for falsely accusing me! I can play lawyer too, Dee~"

Roman nudged his boyfriend, the two of them laughing before Dee leaned in for a kiss on the tip of Roman's nose. If it were Remus's perspective, there would be a dirty joke in there. The two grinned and went in for a real kiss.

Okay so like this was cut short because I was crying all night because the girl I had a crush on and finally managed to get over was texting me and I decided that to finally get over my love for her I'll just say it and it turned out to be a big deal and I dragged to other friends in as emotional support and I feel like garbage.
