I'm kinda building off of a headcannon I have about Virgil And Deceit I wrote about earlier.

STORYTIME!

Virgil looked around, waiting for his ex boyfriend to come and meet him for some bubble tea. This boyfriend he hated for the longest time. It was his Highschool sweetheart who he went to live with during college. They went to the same school and shared an apartment. He was good to him... but he had a temper. He would never hit him but he would stress out and yell a lot. And sometimes yell at Virgil. He also smoked and had large scars on the left side of his face. Virgil despised his temper as it grew more and more toxic.

But they've graduated. Virgil has been through another relationship that sadly ended when the feelings were dulled. His ex reached out to him just to hang out and Virgil let them he same butterflies he felt in Highschool. Virgil still hated him, but he also wanted to see him. It's an odd mix of feelings. He had asked a few things before this meeting like if he still smoked or if he was sorry. He quit smoking and he had apologized for the way he acted, blanining it on stress and how he was raised.

"Ah, Virgil. You look lovelier than ever."

Dee, his ex boyfriend, approached him with a suave smile. He placed his coat on the back of the chair across from him and sat down. He still had the ugly scars from where he had been abused but his whole constantly angry demeanor was gone. His movements were smooth, not rigid anymore. There was also a kinder look in his right eye, the one that was actually real. He also wore warmer colors rather than all black. Virgil hasn't moved past that.

"You look amazing too, Dee Dee. The bright yellow really suits you."

He smiled wide, beaming with pride. He was wearing a yellow cardigan over a white shirt and some kahkis. The lighter colors were nice in him. Virge was always a man of the purple and black. That isn't changing. As long as the bags under his eyes were all artificial made of eyeshadow then it's all good. It's Gucci.

"I'm extremely glad you agreed to meet with me. I know I was an asshole before. I was... toxic. I was a horrible person running off of zero sleep and raging hormones. You certainly didn't deserve to deal with that stressed hell-version of myself."

He chuckled afterwards, but it was a dark humor kind of laugh. Virgil frowned, sipping on his bubble tea.

"I appreciate the apologies, I really do. I spent a lot of nights crying because I thought I was the problem and you hated me. But that's different now. Let's not talk about what happened in the past. We were kids. We were stupid and stressed and pumped with a double dose of testosterone. I'd rather know what's going on with you right now. I want to know about the grown up you. The real you. Like... You graduated medical school, right? How's that working out for you?"

Nice change of subject, Virgil. He gave himself a mental high five for that one. Dee seemed extremely relieved that Virgil was finally interested in moving on. Virgil kinda sorta was bigger and hated him so much that he wouldn't reply to whatever messages and whenever Dee found something of his he'd just say keep it. Virgil was really bitter forever. Especially when he was dating his past boyfriend. Virgil decided, mostly due to the butterflies he didn't repress, it's time to move on past that.

"Well, yes. I have become a surgeon and I have been quite successful in my career. However that wouldn't have been possible if you hadn't been pushing me while we weren't still together to take a break and relax. It was because of that I didn't burn out and give up. It left a lasting impression on me, you know. I... I've missed you Virgil."

Dee rested his hands on the table, looking into Virgil's eyes with the kindest, happiest smile Virgil has ever seen on him. Dee was never this happy. He was always yelling or crying or studying with a frown on his face. He suffered from an RBF so the fsct he was smiling was proof enough that he had changed. Virgil felt a pang in his heart when he saw it. He knew what they had wasn't healthy before, but there was a small hope. There was a hope they could have something better, and Virgil wanted that. That's kind of the entire reason for his second boyfriend: a craving for a healthy relationship.

"You know... I'm sorry to say this so horribly but I didn't really miss the guy I dated in college. I missed the you I dated in Highschool before everything hit the fan. I... I know this is kinda sudden with how much I ghosted you but... I wanna try to go back to that. I want to try again."

Virgil watched Dee's reaction. He stared at him, but he grinned. He covered his mouth with his hands and Virgil watched as for the first time in the longest time, since Highschool, Dee started crying with happiness.

"Virgil... you want to try again with me? Do you really think I deserve that?"

Virgil stood up, walking over to Dee. He just T posed, waiting for Dee to stand up and embrace him. The same thing he would do to beg for a hug or beg for Dee or take a break when they were dating. Some things just never change. Dee stood up and took him intoned his arms, embracing the smaller boy and a tear of joy slipping down. Virgil smiled wide as he hugged his ex boyfriend, and possibly his boyfriend again. The good feelings they had, the happiness of Highschool... could they go back to that?

"Yes, Virgil. Let's try this again. I love you."

"I love you too, Dee Dee."

ONE WORD AWAY FROM QUOTA

I'm really sorry guys. I actually have a boarderline fever and I feel like garbage. I had a nightmare last night too so... ugh. No excuses. I need to work harder.

Advice? Sometimes situations can bring out the worst in people. Sometimes bad things happen and people lash out. Do not take abuse of any kind. You do not deserve it. Take a break from the relationship. Come back later. Talk it through and try to either make things work or just leave. It's okay to leave.

Internet hugs and blow kisses!
