Amelia
"Sis, you gotta talk to him sooner or later," Alison stated while we sat in our cafeteria eating lunch.
As I stabbed my fork in and out of my mashed potatoes, I finally spoke up. "I know. When we get back to the dorm, I am going to call him," I replied sending my vision to her face, then back down to my mashed potatoes. She nodded at me forming a small smile.
When we finished eating, we drove down to the beach and took a walk. When each of us had something going on or a problem, we would always come down here to 'walk and talk it out' as we both say. We spent around an hour walking down the beach, but I felt better about everything upon finishing.
Once we finished our walk, she went to go hang out with Emily to give me some space. I made myself comfortable in my bed, and after debating on just taking a nap, I decided to click on Nicks name, sending a call to his phone.
After a few rings, Nick picked up the phone. "Hello?"
                              "Umm, hey," I replied awkwardly.
"How are you?" He hesitantly asked.
"I've been better," I replied in a soft voice.
Silence took over our conversation until I spoke again saying, "I saw the video. It was a beautiful song, Nick."
"You liked it?" he replied with an ounce of hope in his voice.
"I loved it. I know this is going to be a hard time for us, but I really need you, Nick. I can't even begin to explain my thought process watching you leave," I spoke as my eyes began to water thinking back upon that horrible scene.
"I know, I know. Besides the fact that I live across the United States from you, I will never leave you again, Amelia. You have to know that. I am so sorry, it was such a dumb thing for me to do. I have been so down lately, hating myself for doing that to you. You didn't deserve it," Nick pleaded.
"I believe you," I spoke after a few seconds.
I did. Nick was a genuine person, and I can't disregard the fact that I was scared as well. I just wished we could've been scared together.
"Did you mean it when you said you want me to keep the baby?" I asked thoughtfully.
"Yes, and I am so happy that it is you. I know it's a weird and off situation timing wise, but if anything, I am glad it is with you. It's been a short time that we have known each other, but I have grown strong feelings for you Amelia."
Nick's words sent a warm feeling through my veins. As a smile grew on my face, I replied with a soft 'me too.'
For the rest of our phone call, Nick and I decided that in a week I would come visit him and the boys. Of course, I was bringing the girls along too. We decided to plan the trip for three weeks from now. It would be around the middle of summer. I was so excited to tell the girls about our trip and spend two whole weeks in California with the boys.
Once I got off the phone with Nick, I went to take a shower. Alison would be back soon and being on the phone with Nick for close to four hours, it was getting late. While I was in the shower, I heard someone come in our room. I quickly got out of the shower and dried off while slipping the towel around my body and tucking the top piece in the side next to my armpit. I exited the bathroom to the smell of hamburgers.
"Oh my God, that smells heavenly," I stated as I walked to my dresser pulling out a T-shirt and shorts.
"I got us dinner, now tell me how your phone call went," she smiled at me while preparing our meals. She took everything out of the bags and spread it out on the floor in between our beds.
We spent the remainder of the night gossiping about the boys and other drama while we watched chick-flicks on her laptop.
"Thanks, Ali," I stated as we both got into bed.
"For what?" she asked in a confused tone.
                              "For everything," I replied.
So after I finish this story, I think I'm going to change the cover... to something maybe a little more dramatic?
