After Pragya had convinced Abhi to go to sleep off the alcohol, she called Riya to ask her if Riya and her dad had fixed things between them. However, Riya's phone was not reachable. Pragya thought that Riya was probably asleep by now and left it alone. Pragya looked towards Abhi, stroking his hair as he slept on her bed, while she was sitting upright next to him.
"It's been so many years but you are still the same. You get angry and then drunk causing a whole scene. You're such a drama queen, but you're my drama queen so it's okay." Pragya said looking fondly at Abhi. But Pragya quickly caught herself, realizing that Abhi and she were not together anymore, so Abhi wasn't her anything.
She sighed out loud, thinking back to the events that had led them here, her thoughts circling back to Riya. Riya hated her mother so much, would Pragya's daughter hate her that much too? Would her daughter be angry with her for leaving? How would her daughter react when she finally met her? Pragya voiced these thoughts to an unconscious Abhi.
"How is our daughter? What does she look like? What's her name? What does she like to do? Does she hate me for leaving her? Does she wonder where her mom is? Is she angry with me? Tell her to not be angry with me. Tell her that I love her. Tell her that whenever I hug Prachi, I wish I was hugging her too. Tell her that I have 21 years' worth of presents to give her. Tell her that her mumma loves her." And as Pragya was saying her long monologue tears started to stream down her face, and a tear fell and hit Abhi's face. Feeling the tear on his face, Abhi woke up, still a bit drunk.
"Fuggi, what happened? Why are you crying?" Abhi asked in a cute voice, clumsily sitting up on the bed and wiping Pragya's tears with both of his thumbs.
"Nothing happened." Pragya said, hastily wiping off her tears and facing away from Abhi.
"No, I know that something happened and I won't leave you alone until I know what it is." Abhi said putting his head on Pragya's lap so he could see her better.
"What are you doing, please get off of me." Pragya said annoyed and shocked by Abhi's actions.
"No, not until you tell me what's wrong." Abhi said like a stubborn child shaking his head side to side in a no gesture.
"Okay Baba, calm down I will tell you." Pragya said with a soft smile at Abhi's antics.
"Yeah!" Abhi said doing a small fist pump in the air.
"Does our daughter hate me? Is she angry with me for leaving her?" Pragya asked in a more somber tone than the one she was previously using.
"Hey Fuggi, our Ri-, our daughter does not hate you. Your daughter, my daughter, our daughters do not hate us. They love us because we are the best parents in the world!" Abhi said raising his hand to cup Pragya's face when he saw how sad she was.
"Yes, you're right. We are the best parents in the world." Pragya's worries were eased by Abhi's words. And in her relief, she missed that fact that Abhi almost told her their other daughter's name. When she felt Abhi's hand which was on her face fall, she looked down at her lap to find Abhi asleep, snoring quietly like there was no tomorrow.
She smiled at Abhi's childish antics and leaned her head against the headboard and got ready to sleep in her Abhi's arms. From experience, she knew that there was no way she could move Abhi off of her because he slept like a rock and maybe she didn't want to.
So after 21 years of separation, the two lovers finally got a peaceful sleep in each other's arms. Little did they know that this peace would be short-lived, come next morning a call would come informing them of their youngest daughter's condition.
