"So, if we all agree on the terms and conditions of this project, Mr. Mehra, let's sign this contract and start working together." Rakshit said coming to a stop of his presentation for the project.

"All your points are amazing, Mr. Shergill. And we all would love to work with you. But I can not sign this contract without my daughter. I am sure that she will be here. Just give her 5 more minutes. Until then let's help ourselves to some tea, don't you agree?" Abhi asked Rakshit trying to buy Riya sometime, he was going to give Riya an earful today for being late to a meeting she knew about for a month.

"Mr. Mehra, our time is very valuable, we can't-." Arpita said about to say how they wouldn't waste time waiting for Riya, but Rakshit interrupted her.

"We will wait Mr. Mehra. Now as for the tea, I don't drink it, but I would like some black coffee." Rakshit said while Arpita looked annoyed at being interrupted.

Abhi called a secretary and asked her to get tea and coffee for everyone, and all of them waited for Riya as they drank their beverages.

Rishi was still standing outside, lost in thought, as a few tears fell down his face. He had been thinking back to how hurt Priyanka had looked, and her pain made him hurt.

But it also reminded him why he left her in the first place, because of that. Because she was so quick to jump to conclusions because she doubted him so quickly. Didn't loving someone mean that you trusted them? Then why didn't Priyanka trust him? Why did she get so jealous when she saw him with other girls? Did she not trust his love for her? Did she think his love was so weak that he could fall for anyone and leave her?

It had hurt him to break up with Priyanka, but he didn't know what else to do. It hurt him more when she doubted his love for her. In the beginning, both of them were so happy. But in the end, none of them were happy. Priyanka always feared that Rishi would leave her for someone else. Rishi was always hurt when seeing Priyanka's distrust in him. So he had ended their relationship, so that none of them suffered.

But it hadn't worked, both of them were still suffering, now not because of each other, but for each other.
Rishi snapped out of his thoughts when he felt a hand on his arm, he came back to reality and saw Shahana in front of him.

"Rishi, are you okay? Why are standing out here all alone? I've been trying to get your attention for a whole minute but you didn't seem to hear me." Shahana asked worriedly wondering why Rishi looked like he had been crying.

"I- I'm okay, I just came out here for some fresh air. Now you tell me what you're doing here? Weren't you supposed to be at your job?" Rishi said trying to change the topic.

"I just came back for some papers that I forgot to take with me while going to college. I need them for my job, I was just going to grab them real quick and then go back to the office." Shahana said turning to go inside the house, but she accidentally stepped on a rock, stumbling as she did so. Rishi outstretched a hand to catch her before she fell, holding her hand in his own to steady her.

"Are you okay?" Rishi said immediately leaving Shahana's hand after he steadied her.

"Yeah, I'm okay. Thank you. Now let's both go inside the house before we catch a cold." Shahana said smiling gratefully at Rishi and with that Shahana went inside the house with Rishi going in behind her.

Unbeknownst to both Shahana and Rishi, Priyanka was watching their whole interaction from her car parked at the end of the street. While she was driving away, she's had paused at the end of the street to collect herself together. As she was doing that she saw Rishi's pain-stricken face and tears falling down his face, not being able to see the man she loved in pain, she started to realize that she might have been too quick to jump to conclusions and should have had an open conversation with Rishi.

But all of those thoughts went out of the window when she saw Rishi with a girl she didn't recognize. Jealousy overpowered any rational thought and Priyanka sped away in her car, determined to win Rishi back.

As Shahana was about to leave the house after getting the papers that she needed, her phone rang, stopping her from leaving.

"Hi." The person said once Shahana picked up the phone, causing Shahana to smile because she instantly knew who it was.

"Hi." Shahana replied back to the person on the phone, putting the papers she had collected absently on a nearby table, and going to sit on her bed, seemingly having forgotten about everything else but the person she was talking to right now.
