Part 40- Of Feelings, The Good, And The Bad

"See you made both of us late." Riya told Priyanka as she pulled into the parking lot of the college.

"I didn't ask you to wait for me, you did that all by yourself. And I'm not the one who wasted time apologizing and welcoming me." Priyanka said in her defense.

"Hah. Would you rather have me not apologize?" Riya said sarcastically.

"And dad told me to wait for you, so I couldn't refuse." Riya elaborated.

"Okay, fine it was my fault and that apology was sweet. But now you're the one wasting time by discussing all this." Priyanka said, having a point.

Riya realized what Priyanka was saying was true and both of them got out of the car and sprinted toward their respective classes.

As the bell for the first period rang, Prachi made her way to class, wondering why she hadn't seen Riya drive by as she and Shahana were walking to college.

As Prachi was lost in thought she bumped into someone, losing her balance, but as always Ranbir, who she had bumped into, caught her before she fell. Both of them get lost in each other's eyes.

"Do you do drugs?" Ranbir asked Prachi jokingly, still holding her in his arms, ruining the moment.

"Wha- What?" Prachi asked confused and offended, pushing herself out of Ranbir's grip, and standing up straight.

"I mean I've never met someone who falls as much as you do. So if you have a problem, you can tell me. I promise I won't tell anyone else. I can even get you a consultant to help you with your problem." Ranbir said jokingly, trying to tease Prachi for falling so much.

"I don't have a drug problem. Ugh! You know what? Why am I even trying to explain to you? You have a messed up mind, so of course you'll think about messed up things. You're so annoying!" Prachi said angrily storming off. While Ranbir just had a smile on his face.

Both Shahana and Aryan were looking for each other before they had to go to class, only to bump into each other as they were looking for each other.

Shahana lost her balance when she bumped into Aryan, causing him to wrap both of his arms around her waist to keep her from falling. They got lost in each other's eyes, smiling softly.

"Hi." Aryan said in a mere whisper, still holding Shahana.

"Hi." Shahana said in the same tone, straightening up but Aryan's arms were still wrapped around her.

"Uh- how are you?" Aryan asked unable to formulate a better thought with Shahana so close to him.

"I- I'm good, uh- how are you?" Shahana said not fairing any better than Aryan.

"I- I'm good." Aryan said, both Shahana and Aryan were lost in each other's eyes, not knowing what to say because they were both nervous and didn't want to mess up.

"We- we're going to be late for class." Shahana told Aryan in a whisper still looking into his eyes.

"Oh okay, let's go." Aryan said still lost in Shahana's eyes, but Shahana did not move.

Aryan looked down breaking the eye lock only to find out that his arms were still holding onto Shahana, stopping her from leaving. Aryan quickly let go of Shahana, and she speed walked away to her class, with a blush coloring her cheeks.

"Really, Aryan?" Aryan thought out loud, breaking out of his trance once Shahana left.

"What kind of question is that? 'How are you?' Couldn't you have asked a better question? Do better dude, do better." Aryan said walking towards his own class, planning how to ask Shahana on a date.

As the fifth period rolled around Prachi finally spotted Riya with a girl she didn't recognize. Prachi went next to them.

"Hi, Riya." Prachi said hugging Riya. Riya was pleasantly surprised by the hug.

"Hi." Riya said hugging Prachi back. While Priyanka looked annoyed, dare I say jealous at this interaction.

"Who's this?" Priyanka asked in a rude tone, ever the possessive one.

"Oh, Priyanka this is Prachi. Prachi this is Priyanka." Riya said introducing them.

"Hi." Prachi said in a friendly voice, extending a hand to shake Priyanka's.

"Hi." Priyanka said shaking Prachi's hand in a friendly tone too, but the air of tension was ever present in between them.

"Let's go to class now." Riya said oblivious to the tension in between them. Prachi nodded and started walking towards the class, Riya went to follow her, but Priyanka stopped her by holding her hand.

"So that is Prachi?" Priyanka asked whispering in Riya's ear.

"Yeah, why do you ask?" Riya said looking at Priyanka confused.

"No reason, just asking." Priyanka said smiling an undefinable smile.

"You're weird. Now come on let's go." Riya said raising an eyebrow and then pulling Priyanka towards the class that they both had.

Once Priyanka and Riya settled into the class, sitting next to each other, Priyanka groaned at seeing the professor in the classroom.

"Ugh! This 'behenji auntie' is our teacher. You couldn't have warned me?" Priyanka asked Riya since Pragya was still preparing some papers for the class and hadn't begun the lesson.

"She isn't a 'behenji auntie!' She is Anuradha auntie or Ms. Anuradha! And she is a very good teacher!" Riya said whisper yelling, coming to Pragya's defense, getting really angry at Priyanka for insulting Pragya, and she didn't even know why. Priyanka was blunt and often ended up insulting people, some of which Riya even liked, but Riya had never gotten this angry before.

"Okay chill, I won't insult your 'Anuradha auntie' again." Priyanka said raising her hands in mock surrender, choosing not to say anything else because she didn't want to make Riya more angry.

Prachi was watching the interaction between Riya and Priyanka, curiously, from her seat.

"I don't know why but this Priyanka gives me bad vibes." Prachi told Shahana, without looking at her. Maybe because unknown to Prachi she was just feeling protective of her little twin sister.

"I mean I just met her and it's too early to have an opinion about her, but I feel something off about her, what do you think?" Prachi asked looking up at Shahana when she still didn't respond. Prachi snapped her finger in front of Shahana's face to break her out of her trance.

"Huh, what happened?" Shahana asked turning to look up at Prachi. She had been looking at Aryan from afar and he had caught her eye, and they were stuck looking at each other, without anyone's knowledge.

"Nevermind, how did your test go?" Prachi asked thinking that Shahana was still worried about her test.

"What test?- Oh that test, uh- yeah it went well." Shahana said almost getting caught in her lie.

Prachi raised an eyebrow at how suspicious Shahana was being but before she could ask any more questions Pragya started the lecture. While, Shahana breathed a sigh of relief, thanking her maasi in her mind for saving her from Prachi's interrogation.

The rest of the day was uneventful as everyone attended their classes. After school, everyone went their separate ways. Prachi, Shahana, and Ranbir went to their part-time job. Pragya and Aryan both went to their separate homes.

Priyanka went to meet Rishi not knowing how many misunderstandings were about to come her way. And Riya went to Drishti's house before going to the office, not knowing how this meeting would change her life forever.
