Part 52- Friendships

It was time for a lunch break when Prachi saw Riya. She had been waiting for Shahana to come join her for lunch, but Shahana had gone to the library to get some work done.

"Hey, Prachi." Riya said smiling, going up to Prachi and hugging her.

"Hi." Prachi said smiling, hugging Riya back.

"What are you doing for lunch?" Riya asked Prachi once they separated.

This morning Priyanka had told Riya that she wanted to have lunch with her because they weren't spending enough time together since she got back. But at the last minute, Priyanka had ditched her, saying that she had something urgent to do.

"Nothing much. What about you?" Prachi asked curiously.

"I'm going to a restaurant, do you want to come with me?" Riya asked hopefully.

Riya had already booked a table for herself and Priyanka. Even if Priyanka wasn't coming, Riya couldn't cancel the reservation now and she didn't want to go alone.

"Uh, I'm not sure." Prachi said hesitantly.

"Come on it'll be fun, the food there is delicious." Riya said trying to convince Prachi. "Please?" Riya asked with a cute pout when she saw that Prachi was going to refuse.

"Okay, fine." Prachi said melting at Riya's pout. "But we have to get back on time for the fifth period." Prachi said sternly.

"I promise, we will be back on time. Now come on let's go." Riya said grabbing Prachi's hand and urging her to move faster.

Prachi and Riya were both sitting in Riya's car. With Prachi in the passenger seat and Riya in the driver seat. Just as Riya was going to drive out of the college parking lot she heard a voice behind her that sounded familiar.

"Where are you guys going?" Ranbir said running up to Riya's car.

"We're going out to eat." Riya informed.

"Can I come with you too?" Ranbir asked hopefully.

"Why, don't you always have a 'boy's lunch' with Aryan, that I'm not welcomed to?" Riya asked teasingly.

"Hah. Boy's lunch. " Prachi said quietly to herself, chuckling. But both Ranbir and Riya heard and Riya chuckled too at hearing Prachi.

"We don't call it a boy's lunch." Ranbir said making a disgusted face.

"And we never stopped you from joining us, we even asked you to, but you said you didn't want to hang around two- and I quote 'two hormonal boys who only think about girls.'" Ranbir said quoting what Riya had said as a joke when refusing to go to lunch with Aryan and Ranbir.

"Okay fine, get in before I change my mind." Riya said agreeing with what Ranbir had said. "Where is Ari anyway?" Riya asked once Ranbir was seated in the back seat of the car.

"I don't know, I haven't seen him, I even tried calling him but he didn't pick up. That useless person ditched me." Ranbir said being pretend angrily.

"He's probably somewhere in a corner thinking only about girls." Prachi said jokingly.

"Hahaha, good one!" Riya said laughing out loud and hi-fiving Prachi.

"Oh, hello stop insulting my best friend. And tell me Prachi where is your best friend, Shahana? She's not going to lunch with you today?" Ranbir asked pointing out how Shahana had ditched Prachi just like Aryan had ditched him.

"Shahana is studying at the library, like a good girl." Prachi said coming to Shahana's defense rendering Ranbir speechless. While Riya smiled knowingly, guessing that Aryan and Shahana were probably together right now.
