When Riya left Drishti turned back around to leave but Pragya stopped her.
"Where are you going, beta?" Pragya asked confused.
"Oh, auntie, I..." Drishti trailed off unable to explain how she didn't feel like she belonged there.
"Do you feel bad about the girls' comments? Don't listen to her, she doesn't know what she is talking about. Riya invited you here, you are her guest, and you have every right to be here. Now come on let's go inside." Pragya said but Drishti made no move to go inside, so Pragya grabbed Drishti's hand in her own, to take her inside.
As soon as Pragya grabbed Drishti's hand she felt as though she had found someone close to her, and Drishti felt the same way. Drishti felt as though she was finally safe and that nothing on earth could harm her as long as auntie was holding her hand. As they looked at each and their joined hands they felt unfallen tears prick their eyes and wordlessly went inside. Hand in hand.

Riya finally spotted Priyanka in the backyard of Mehra mansion, leaning against a tree, looking annoyed."Don't talk to me." Priyanka said once she realized that Riya had found her.
"Who said I was going to." Riya said sarcastically.
"You just did. And before you ask, no, I'm not going to apologize." Priyanka said adamantly.
"But it was your fault, Priyanka." Riya said, sighing.
"Sure, side with the people you've recently met than with your one-month older sister who you've known your whole life." Priyanka said sarcastically, genuinely a little hurt.
"Priyanka it's not like that-." Riya began to say but Priyanka quickly cut her off.
"You have no right to lecture me, I'm older, you only listen to what I say, you don't get to order me around." Priyanka said in all seriousness.
"Well, that doesn't seem fair." Riya said in a slightly whiney voice. But instead of responding Priyanka stormed away again, only to come back.
"You know what? I will apologize but I won't mean it! And while I'm at it I'll also tell that girl how my own sister is yelling at me instead of hugging me when I've been gone for 6 months." Priyanka said genuinely upset.
"Priyan-." Riya began to say but Priyanka had already stormed away.
After Priyanka left Riya defeatedly leaned against the tree. This night was not going as she expected. Aryan was too busy trying to hide from Priyanka because booji had told Aryan that Priyanka was coming and that he had to impress her when she called him away. So Aryan had gone into 'hiding' because he knew if his mom saw him with Priyanka she would get all these ideas about them.
Riya had finally worked up the courage to apologize to Prachi, she was going to do it tonight, and Aryan was no help. Not that he even helped, all he did was tease Riya about how she was acting like she was going to propose to Prachi instead of apologizing to her, with the number of times Riya had practiced in front of her mirror how she was going to apologize. But the teasing did help because it made her laugh and put her at ease. What Riya didn't know was that this night was only going to bring more twists and turns.

When Prachi and Shahana got inside the Mehra mansion the first person they saw was Mr. Mehra. He smiled seeing them."Happy Diwali!" Abhi said to both of them, smiling brightly.
"Happy Diwali to you too uncle." Both Prachi and Shahana said at the same time, with bright smiles too.
"So I heard that Riya invited you here, is everything okay between you guys now?" Abhi asked hopefully, with a soft smile.
"Yes, uncle everything is good now." Prachi said in reality unsure if it actually was.
As Abhi and Prachi were talking, Shahana wandered off, her eyes searching for someone.
"Well, that's good to hear, come on let's go enjoy ourselves." Abhi said putting a hand on Prachi's shoulder, leading the way. Both Abhi and Prachi felt a bond between them as Abhi put a hand on Prachi's shoulder. Abhi felt as though he had found a missing piece of his heart. And Prachi felt the warmth and care of a father that she had never known.

Once inside the Mehra mansion Pragya and Drishti started to talk, still holding hands, unable to let go for some reason."Riya didn't tell me a lot about you, but she told me that we would be fast friends." Drishti informed Pragya, with a soft smile.
"That's nice I think once we get to know each other more, we will become good friends. And I don't think it's fair that you have heard about me but I have not heard anything about you." Pragya said with a soft smile too.
"That's because Riya and I only met 2 days ago. When I-" Drishti began to say about to tell Pragya about Riya's accident. When Prachi came and interrupted their conversation.
"Mumma I had a dupatta emergency, it caught on a plant and ripped, can you please come and fix it." Prachi said lifting her dupatta to show Pragya, not seeing Drishti next to her.
"Okay, I will. But first I need you to meet someone. This is Drishti, Drishti this is my daughter Prachi." Pragya said introducing them.
"Hello, happy Diwali! It's nice to meet you." Prachi said extending a hand to shake Drishti's.
"Hi, happy Diwali! It's nice to meet you too." Drishti said shaking Prachi's hand, that touch felt familiar to both of them.
"Let's go now Mumma." Said Prachi urging Pragya to move faster.
"We'll come back in a bit." Pragya told Drishti, as she took her hand away from Drishti's feeling as though she was losing a piece of her heart. Drishti felt something along those lines too.
Prachi pulled Pragya upstairs, just as Abhi entered the living room from the side of the hallway.
