Part 54- One Step Forward

As it turns out Riya's guess of Aryan and Shahana spending lunch break together was correct. Because as Shahana came to the college's library to actually study for a test. Midway through her studying Aryan came and sat next to her.

Aryan had seen Shahana leave Prachi to go to the library and wanting to spend more time with her, he had followed her. As Shahana sat down lost in her books, Aryan thought it was better not to interrupt her and let her study. So Aryan had sat down a few tables away from Shahana, appreciating her beauty with a dreamy smile on his face. Aryan had spent the majority of the lunch period being deeply lost looking at Shahana, when he finally went up to her and sat next to her, seeing that she was almost done with studying.

"Hi." Aryan said smiling, sitting next to Shahana.

"H- hi." Shahana said surprised but smiling when she saw Aryan.

"What are you doing?" Aryan said pointing toward the books in front of Shahana.

"Studying for a history test. What are you doing here?" Shahana asked.

"Oh nothing, I mean-- the same thing as you, studying for a history test." Aryan said scrambling to come up with an excuse, not wanting Shahana to know that he had been watching her from afar. Aryan thought that Shahana would find that weird. Aryan picked up a book from the table and pretended to read to make his lie more believable, making Shahana raise an eyebrow in question.

"Shahana let me read." Aryan said when he felt Shahana tap his shoulder, pretending to be focused on the book.

"The book is upside-down. I know you have many skills. But I didn't think that reading backward would be one of them." Shahana said jokingly.

"Oh, I- Uh-." Aryan said embarrassedly, realizing that he was indeed holding the book upside-down, he closed the book and put it back on the table, clumsily. Looking at Shahana sheepishly, with a small smile.

Shahana laughed out loud at Aryan after looking at his face, causing Aryan to laugh out too at how stupid he was being.

While both Aryan and Shahana were laughing and enjoying each other's company, a strand of Shahana's hair covered Shahana's eyes. Aryan was mesmerized by this and moved forward to move that strand of Shahana's hair away from her face.

As Aryan came into Shahana's personal space, so close that their noses almost touched, gently tucking that strand of Shahana's hair behind her ear. Both of them got lost in each other's eyes, inching closer to one another without even realizing it, their lips millimeters apart, their breaths mingling together.

The spell was broken when the school bell rang, indicating the end of lunch. Both Aryan and Shahana came to their senses, instantly moving away from one another.

"I-- I should go--- you know for class." Shahana said happily, with a bright blush coloring her cheeks, standing up and collecting her books.

"Ye- yeah you- should-- do that." Aryan said happily, not looking up at Shahana, still sitting on the chair.

And with that said Shahana almost sprinted out of the library. Only to stop outside the door of the library, leaning against a wall at the side of the door. Smiling happily, and blushing hard as she thought about what had almost happened. Shahana then walked to class, a bright smile and a blush ever present on her face.

Inside the library, Aryan was experiencing the same things. He was smiling brightly as he looked down at the table. Thinking about what had almost happened in between him and Shahana, happily. Then he realized that he had to get to class and got up to leave. A bright smile on his face, nothing could change his mood today.

Unbeknownst to Aryan and Shahana, some had witnessed their moment with each other. A person who was hidden behind a bookcase in the library. That person was none other than Priyanka.

"What did I just see?" Priyanka thought out loud once she was alone in the library.

Priyanka had seen the same girl that she saw with Rishi the other day at college today. After seeing that girl Priyanka wanted to know more about her. So she had followed her into the library, even canceling her lunch plans with Riya to figure out who this girl was.

"What going on between Aryan and that girl?" Priyanka thought to herself confused. "Isn't she with Rishi? Is she two-timing them? Or was I too quick to jump to conclusions?" Priyanka said with numerous questions running around in her head.

'Okay, think Priyanka, think. Think with a clear head. Before you do anything else, you have to figure out what's the deal with that girl.' Priyanka thought to herself, making a rational decision for once. So  Priyanka walked towards her class, planning how to get close to that girl so that she could learn more about her.

When Meera reached the office, she quickly went into Abhi's cabin, to tell him what had happened.

"Oh hi, Meera, how did the meeting with Mr. Shergill go, did we get the contract?" Abhi asked smiling, he had been working on an older project that needed to be done by the end of the week, so he couldn't attend the meeting. Purab and Alia had recently started a new project, so they were busy doing that. And Riya had to be at school during the time of the meeting. Only Meera was free so she had gone to the meeting alone.

"Uh, actually I didn't get to have the meeting." Meera said not elaborating, this was harder than she had thought.

"Why not? Was there another problem with the contract?" Abhi asked confused.

"Uh, actually-." Meera said not knowing how to say that Riya had fainted because she knew that Abhi's reaction was going to be bad. But Purab opening the door and coming inside the cabin saved her from saying anything.

Purab gave Meera a look asking if she had told Abhi, making her shake her head no.

"What's going on, guys?" Abhi asked worriedly after watching Purab and Meera's interaction.

"Abhi...." Purab began to say.
