"I'm here, sorry for the delay." Riya said opening the door to the conference room and coming inside, seemingly out of breath because she was rushing.
"See I told you that she would be here." Abhi told Rakshit smiling, but Riya could see that both Abhi and Meera were giving her the look indicating that she was in trouble.
However, surprisingly Purab and Alia had no reaction to Riya coming late. They were too busy trying to figure out why Rakshit felt so familiar.
"Riya, this is Ms. Arpita Shergill, and this is Mr. Rakshit Shergill, they are both our new business partners."
"Hello, it's nice to meet you." Riya told both of them, shaking their hands, while both of them nodded in return.
"We were just about to finalize the deal, we have discussed all the details, and now we just have to sign the contract. Look over it once before you sign it, and tell us if you don't agree with something." Rakshit told Riya once she sat down.
"She doesn't-." Arpita said about to say how Riya didn't have to look over the contract since her dad already did, but Rakshit stopped her by putting a hand over her shoulder.
"The contract looks pretty good." Riya said once she was done reading it, causing Arpita to breathe a sigh of relief for some reason.
"But as I was looking at it, I noticed a tiny clause that states that Mehra industries will be liable for any damages that occur during this project. I'm not okay with that. Because this a new project, with new dancers, singers, etcetera. We'll be putting on a show to limelight new talents. Accidents are bound to happen. The dancers might injure themselves during the performance. The singers might take a tumble from the stage in concert, trust me I've seen it happen. Even the backstage crew, might make faulty props that cause damage the day of. Of course, these are only hypotheticals as we will try our best to ensure that the showcase goes smoothly. But there are just too many variables to consider. Since this is an entirely new concept, trial and error is natural. And now that we'll be working together it's only fair that we share the liability for damages 50/50, as we will do with the revenue." Riya explained.
"We'll think about it Ms. Mehra, and we'll get back to you later this week." Rakshit said after a long silence, deliberating. He had a small smile on his face for an unknown reason, he almost looked at Riya like a proud brother after she was done talking.
"Have a good day." Rakshit said leaving, without saying a proper goodbye to anyone, with Arpita following behind him.

Once Rakshit and Arpita were both inside their car, Arpita unleashed her anger on Rakshit.
"What was that Rakshit?! What? It was like you wanted to get caught. Why did you let Riya read the contract? We could have made Abhishek sign the contract with that clause and he wouldn't even know. Have you forgotten your revenge after seeing those people? Or did you forget what those people did to your Mother?!" Arpita said yelling at Rakshit while the driver was driving them home.
"I didn't forget anything!" Rakshit said as a few tears fell down his face.
"I didn't forget anything, Maasi."
Rakshit said now more defeatedly.
"I remember everything, and I will get justice for my mother. I just wanted to give those people a fair chance. But I promise you they will suffer just like they made my Mumma suffer!" Rakshit said determinedly.
"They will pay for what they have done, they will pay for my Mumma's death, they will pay for their sins!" Rakshit said as tears streamed down his face.
"I'm sorry, beta, for accusing you." Arpita said realizing her mistake when she saw Rakshit cry, joining her hands together in a pleading way.
"No, it's okay, please don't do that." Rakshit said stopping Arpita from folding her hands.
"You're the only family that I have left, and you have every right to yell at me when you think that I'm being stupid." Rakshit said hugging Arpita.
"Okay now stop crying." Arpita said breaking the hug. "I told the chef to make your favorite dish, it's waiting for you at home." Arpita said to get Rakshit to smile and he did.
The rest of the car ride was silent as both Rakshit and Arpita were lost in thought. Until Rakshit told the driver to stop the car.
"Driver, stop the car!" Rakshit told the driver abruptly, causing the driver to hit the brakes real quick, making the car lurch forward.
"What happened?" Arpita asked alarmed by Rakshit's sudden action.
"Look over there, it's a Shiv temple, I would always go there with Pragya chaachi! And me and Kia-" Rakshit said in a childlike manner but stopping midway.
"Me and Kiara would always run around the temple, chasing each other and driving Chaachi crazy." Rakshit said in a mere whisper, feeling tears prick his eyes as he thought about his childhood best friend.
"Why don't you go inside? And relive some memories." Arpita said laying a comforting hand on Rakshit's shoulder, to which Rakshit nodded tearfully. When Rakshit got out of the car he waited for Arpita to get out too, but she didn't.
"Beta, you go inside, I won't be coming, I'll go to the office to make a new contract." Arpita said and Rakshit nodded, too overcome with emotion to say anything.
So after Rakshit watched Arpita's car drive away, he headed towards the temple, not knowing who he was going to meet there.

"How was your day?" Aryan asked Shahana after she picked up the phone. He had finally worked up the courage to call her after deliberating what to say for a long time.
"It was good, how about you?" Shahana asked a smile ever present on her face.
"My day was great." Aryan said he too smiling after hearing Shahana's voice.
"So- you called?" Shahana asked when Aryan said nothing else.
"Uh yeah." Aryan said breaking out of his trance after hearing Shahana's voice.
"I just wanted to ask you--- Wi- will you go- out on a- date with- me?" Aryan asked nervously, stopping during his sentences to force the words out, afraid of being rejected.
"Uh.... ye- yes." Shahana said nervously, smiling widely, blushing so much that her cheeks burned with heat.
"I mean... yes I will go on a date...with you." Shahana elaborated, blushing so much.
"Really?!!" Aryan asked not believing his ears, jumping on his bed out of pure happiness, and giving a dreamy smile.
"Uh- When?" Shahana asked Aryan breaking him out of his daydream.
"When- what?" Aryan asked, instantly realizing that he had forgotten to tell Shahana when the date was in his happiness.
"Oh, sorry, how does Saturday sound, 5 pm, at Fine Diner restaurant?" Aryan asked nervously waiting for Shahana's response.
"That- sounds good." Shahana said smiling.
"Bye now." Shahana said abruptly, ending the call because if she talked to Aryan more, she would literally die of shyness, from how hard she was blushing.
"Bye." Aryan said in a dreamy voice, laying down in his bed, smiling happily, thinking numerous thoughts about Shahana.
When Shahana cut the call, she hugged the phone close to her chest, smiling happily, spending the day in thoughts of Aryan, forgetting about all that she had to do.
