As Prachi and Shahana were walking to college the next day, with Pragya already at school because she had to prepare early to teach, they saw Riya's red car speed past them headed towards the college.
Prachi and Shahana were both shocked because every other time Riya would see them walking to school, she would make a point of slowing down her car, honk at them to get out of the way, and speed up like she was going to run over them, but turning the other way when she got close to them and speeding away. However, this time Riya did nothing of the sort, she just kept on driving as if she didn't even see them.
"Did I just see Riya not bother us? Or are my eyes going bad?" Shahana asked unbelievably.
"No, that was really Riya and she didn't even acknowledge us, let alone bother us." Prachi said just as shocked.
Both Shahana and Prachi were confused and surprised about the sudden change in Riya.
When they got to the college, they saw Aryan always close by Riya the whole day.
What they did not know was that Abhi had asked Aryan to keep a close eye on Riya because he still wasn't quite okay with sending Riya back to school.
Another thing that was off was that Riya was wearing a long-sleeved jacket over a tank top even though it was like 90 degrees outside.
What they did know was that Riya did this to hide the cast on her wrist, while her bangs covered the bandage on her forehead, because she didn't want fake sympathy from people.
As the day went on, things just kept on getting weirder and weirder, Riya never once approached them to show off how she was better than them in every way. If someone were to ask Prachi, she would say that Riya was trying to avoid them.
What she did not know was that Riya was working up the courage to apologize, the last time Riya had tried she had hurt Prachi's mom, so Riya was hesitant to try again. Riya's hesitance to apologize also came from the fact that she had never apologized to someone and admitted that she was wrong.
But what had happened? Why the sudden change? What took place in the last days that changed Riya so much? Were the questions running through Prachi's mind.
As the fifth period came, Shahana voiced her confusion.
"What is going on? Is this Riya's look-alike? How can someone switch personalities like that? What if the real Riya went somewhere else this is her calmer nicer twin?" Shahana asked half-seriously and half-jokingly.
"Honestly I don't know, and I don't want to find out. This change is nice and I don't want to ruin it by investigating it." Prachi said but inside she was dying to know what had caused this change. Little did she know that she would get an answer to her question very soon.
