I succeeded she drank the kale smoothie! Abhi had texted Pragya while she was walking to work.
Really? How did you do it? Pragya replied smiling, curious to know.
I just told her to and she did it. My daughter listens to me you know. Abhi texted back, as he was sitting at the dining table.
Uh-huh... how did you really do it? Pragya asked somehow knowing that Mr. Mehra was keeping something from her.
That is really how it happened. Abhi texted, surprised that Ms. Anuradha knew that something was up.
Okay fine, I bribed her with chocolate cake. Abhi texted again, admitting the truth.
Oh wow, really? That defeats the whole purpose. Do you know how many calories chocolate cake has? Pragya texted back, chuckling, knowing that Mr. Mehra was wrapped around his daughter's finger.
But it worked, didn't it? She finished the whole glass. Abhi texted back, proudly.
And after she finishes the whole chocolate cake, that one glass will be useless. Pragya replied matter of factly.
And really? Chocolate cake for breakfast? That's the most unhealthy thing I've heard of. Pragya texted again, unbelievably.
Hey, it's not that unhealthy. Sometimes it's alright to have dessert for breakfast. It's called living life to the fullest. Abhi texted back in his defense.
Sure it is. Pragya replied sarcastically.
Is Riya coming to college today? Pragya texted again before Abhi could reply.
No, she isn't, I wanted to keep her home today, after what happened yesterday. Abhi replied worriedly.
Huh, I thought so. Pragya texted back, smiling.
What do you mean? Abhi replied, curious to know.
No, it's nothing really, you're just very overprotective. Pragya texted back, chuckling.
No, I'm not, I'm just the right amount of protective. Abhi replied, defending himself.
So you mean overprotective? Pragya texted back in a teasing tone.
No, just protective. Abhi replied
Overprotective. Pragya texted back.
Just Protective. Abhi texted back.
Overprotective. Pragya replied.
Protective. Abhi replied.
Overprotective. Pragya texted back.
Both Abhi and Pragya continued this non-verbal word match until Abhi just decided to admit defeat.
Okay okay, now we're just fighting like children. Abhi texted back, with a chuckle, on the other side Pragya chuckled too.
So I admit I might be a tad bit overprotective, but if something happened to her I won't be able to live with myself. After all, our children are our life, isn't that right? Abhi texted again, in a more serious tone than before.
That's completely right, Mr. Mehra. Our children are what we live for. Pragya replied, smiling softly, trying to understand why Mr. Mehra's tone had changed.
See, Ms. Anuradha my overprotectiveness isn't so bad now. Abhi texted back jokingly, in a lighter manner than before.
That's correct. Pragya replied with a chuckle.
