Part 127- Reasons

Prachi made a face as Ranbir sat across from her on a round table in the cafeteria, his smile falling into a confused frown at Prachi's weird behavior, Aryan and Shahana who had sat by their respective friends looking at them in confusion, as Ranbir and Prachi had a silent stare down with each other.

'Why are you acting weird?' Ranbir thought to himself while looking at Prachi.

'Why are you so annoying then?' Prachi retaliated in her mind as if she had heard Ranbir's thoughts.

"What? Did you say something?" Ranbir asked out loud.

"No, I didn't say anything. Did you say something?" Prachi asked quickly.

"No, of course not." Ranbir said with an awkward chuckle.

Both of them stared at each other for a bit, their foreheads creasing in confusion, trying to guess what the other was thinking.

"Where's Riu? I haven't seen her all day." Prachi said, looking around for Riya.

"Huh yeah true, I haven't seen her either. She left for college before me, I don't know where she could be." Aryan said in confusion he too looked around for Riya.

"Probably ditching class or something. Am I right, Prachi?" Ranbir asked jokingly, but Prachi just made a face at him, confusing him more.

"What's going on with you two?" Shahana asked confusedly, watching both of them with a confused but amused smile.

"Why don't you ask him. I'm going to call Riu." Prachi said as she got up from the table to walk to the side of the cafeteria while scrolling down her contact list, as a way to avoid looking at Ranbir.

"Oh yeah, Aryan you still haven't given me Priyanka's number." Shahana said remembering what she had wanted.

"Even now all you think about is her. But here, I know you won't leave me alone until you talk to her." Aryan said half serious and half-jokingly as he handed Shahana his phone, Shahana happily scrolled down the contact list to click on Priyanka's name.

But Ranbir who had zoned out was looking at Prachi who was standing in the corner of the cafeteria, seemingly lost in thought.

'What is happening? Why are you fighting me on every little thing? Now that I've realized my feelings for you, why is the only thing that you want to do is fight? I want to tell you that Prachi I like you, Prachi will you go out on a date with me? But you're like an angry lioness right now that I feel like if I even say one word you will chew me up and spit me out. What in the world did I do?' Ranbir thought to himself so very confused.

"No one respects me in this house. My sister, my best friend, even my daughter, all of them betrayed me, you watch when they come back from Mumbai I will end all of them. But you won't betray me too, would you?" Abhi asked dramatically as he was sitting on Priyanka's bed in her darkened bedroom, stroking her hair, as he looked in front of him, making a face.

His call with Riya, Alia, and Purab had ended 10 minutes ago, but by the end of it Riya somehow convinced him to let her go to Mumbai, and it wasn't like he could call her back either. Because Riya had been smart about it and had only called him as the private jet was about to take off, and now he couldn't even call her for the next few hours to yell at her, not only her but at all of them for leaving him like this.

"Oh great look at this, she didn't betray me but she went to sleep on me." Abhi said jokingly as he looked down to see Priyanka who was fast asleep, having dozed off somewhere between his long monolog.

But as Abhi was about to get up to go to his study to get some work done, Priyanka's phone which was on the bed stand rang, Abhi instantly picked up the call without looking at the caller ID because he didn't want Priyanka to wake up.
