Riya parked her car in front of the office where Drishti's job interview was.
"Drishti di, we're here." Riya told Drishti who was lost in thought.
"Oh, thank you for driving me." Drishti said snapping out of her thoughts and getting out of the car.
"Good luck Drishti di." Riya said smiling as Drishti was leaving.
"Thank you. Drive safe." Drishti said smiling, going inside the building.
Riya watched Drishti go inside and then began to drive away, but the building's name caught her attention.
'Shergill Group?' Riya thought to herself, driving away with an undefinable smile on her face.

Drishti had been waiting for her turn for the interview in the waiting room of the office for quite some time now. Drishti was taking in her surroundings to pass time. The office looked very professional and the people who had also come for the same job looked much more experienced than her. Drishti started to get more and more nervous the more she waited, thinking that her chances of getting this job weren't good.
Drishti broke out of her thoughts when someone called her name, telling her that it was her turn for the interview. Drishti went inside the cabin only to see a woman sitting behind a desk.
"Hi, I'm Arpita Shergill and you are?" The woman who was none other than Rakshit's maasi said. Even though she owned this company, she was the one conducting these interviews, because she wanted Rakshit to have the best secretary.
"Drishti Sood. It's nice to meet you." Drishti said smiling.
"Same to you. Please sit. Can I see your resume?" Arpita asked once Drishti was seated.
"Here you go." Drishti said handing Arpita the file, nervously watching her read it.
"It says here that you graduated top of your class, that's pretty impressive." Arpita said complimenting Drishti, causing Drishti to smile.
"And you also did a double major in business and media arts, why? Those two majors are completely different from one another." Arpita asked intrigued.
"Oh well actually I couldn't decide between the two so I did both of them. I mean I love math and numbers but filmography has always been my passion, it's a way to bring stories to life. So I decided why not do both?" Drishti said smiling fondly thinking about her dreams.
"That's nice, you have all the skills that we're looking for. When will you like to start?" Arpita asked smiling, Drishti was perfect for the job and seemed like a patient person that could deal with Rakshit's mood swings.
"Excu- excuse me?" Drishti said not believing her ears, and not wanting to get her hopes up.
"I said your hired, when will you-." Arpita said smiling, about to ask Drishti when she would like to start, but a knock on her door interrupted her.
"Maasi, do you have the new contract for our meeting with-." Rakshit said not seeing Drishti as he entered the cabin, but when he did see her, he stopped mid-sentence.
"You?" Rakshit said accusingly. "What are you doing here?" Rakshit said to Drishti because he remembered her from the Diwali function.
"Oh, I- I- I am-" Drishti said standing up from the chair, stuttering to explain herself.
"No, wait you tell me what you're doing here? Mr. Rude, who made me fall." Drishti said courageously because she didn't know that Rakshit was the boss.
"Watch who you're talking to. You can't insult me when you're standing in my office. What are you even doing here? Who let you enter?" Rakshit said angrily.
"Drishti came here for a job interview for your new secretary." Arpita told Rakshit before the situation could escalate, while Drishti gave a troubled expression realizing that Rakshit was her to be boss and that she had just insulted him.
"Hah. Tell her to forget about it." Rakshit said sarcastically. "This girl can't even stand up straight on her two feet how is she going to help me run this business?" Rakshit asked rhetorically.
"Listen, I am-" Drishti said regretfully about to say how she was sorry but Rakshit interrupted her.
"You're never going to get this job, forget about it, and leave." Rakshit said picking up Drishti's resume and handing it to her, without looking at her.
"Please, I'm-" Drishti said taking back her resume about to say how she was sorry, but Rakshit interrupted her once more.
"I said leave!" Rakshit said raising his voice when Drishti didn't comply the first time.
And with that Drishti defeatedly left the cabin, with tears streaming down her face.

"Why did you do that Rakshit?" Arpita said standing next to Rakshit and laying a hand on his arm to calm him down. "You're never this mean to anyone." Arpita said confused about what had just happened.
"I saw her, Maasi. I saw her at the Mehra mansion on Diwali. She's friends with them. I don't want anyone related to the Mehras working in my office. She'll probably try to spy on us for them." Rakshit said explaining himself.
"Then whatever you did was good. We shouldn't give the Mehras a chance to find our weaknesses." Arpita said knowing that Rakshit felt guilty for how he had treated that girl.
"Now tell me why did you come here?" Arpita asked to lighten the mood.
"Oh, I came here to ask if you have the new contact for our meeting with Mr. Mehra today?"
"Yes, I do. But the meeting isn't with Mr. Mehra. It's with Meera Malhotra. Mr. Mehra is busy with other stuff. And the meeting is at a restaurant because Ms. Malhotra said that she wanted to celebrate our union." Arpita said rolling her eyes.
"But what poor Ms. Meera Malhotra does not know is that the union she wants to celebrate will soon become their destruction." Rakshit said smirking evilly.

When Drishti got out of the office building, she stood outside to collect herself.
'How stupid was I to believe that my fate could change?' Drishti thought to herself with a bitter laugh.
"You always do this, Shivji." Drishti said angrily looking up at the sky.
"You make me believe that something good is finally about to happen in my life, but at the end moment, you shatter all my hopes. But you know what? Keep trying because one of these days even you will give up and give me what I want. I'm not going to break that easily." Drishti said wiping away her tears, determined.
Drishti then found a taxi to drive her home, until she figured out what to do next. What Drishti did not know is that fate had something wonderful in store for her.
