The first person Abhi saw when he entered the living room was Drishti. Since his entire focus was on Drishti, he missed Pragya and Prachi who were going up the stairs.

"Happy Diwali!" Abhi said when he saw Drishti, with a bright smile.

"Happy Diwali, Mr. Mehra!" Drishti said with a bright smile too.

"You don't have to be so formal, Just call me uncle. Now tell me how you like the function so far?" Abhi asked curiously with a soft smile.

"It's great Mr. Mehra- uh I mean uncle." Drishti said fumbling, with a small embarrassed smile.

"That's good to hear, come with me I have to introduce you to someone." Abhi said offering his hand to Drishti so that she wouldn't get lost in the crowd, Drishti gladly took his hand.

Both Abhi and Drishti felt as though they had found someone close to them. Drishti felt the comfort of a father who would've taught his child to walk while holding their hand. While Abhi felt like he was holding his Kiara again, but shook his head, tears stinging his eyes, knowing that it could never be possible. Abhi led Drishti to the back of the room, letting go of her hand.

"Where did she go?" Abhi said to himself and called a waiter.

"Do you know where Prachi is?" Abhi asked the waiter.

"No, Sir." The waiter said and left.

"Well, I'm sorry, beta. I wanted you to meet Prachi, but she is nowhere to be found." Abhi said scanning the room for Prachi.

"Don't be sorry, Uncle. I think I've already met her. Is she Anuradha auntie's daughter?" Drishti asked curiously with a knowing smile.

"Yeah, that's the one. I didn't know that you already met her. How did you like her?" Abhi asked curiously, happy that they had already met.

"She was nice, but she had to go because her dupatta ripped, her mom is fixing it right now." Drishti informed with a smile.

"Oh okay, do you know where they went?" Abhi asked curiously.

"I think they went upstairs in one of the guest rooms." Drishti informed.

"Thank you let me go see how she's doing and wish Happy Diwali to her mom. You have fun and mingle with some of Riya's friends. I'll see you later." Abhi said with a smile.

"Okay, I will uncle, see you in a bit." Drishti said with a smile too.

And with that said Abhi headed towards the guest room Pragya and Prachi were in.

Outside Ranbir and Riya were in the backyard.

"What are you planning to do, Riya? In this empty place with an alone boy, what are your intentions?" Ranbir said jokingly

"Eww, now I understand why Prachi can't stand you." Riya said making a disgusted face.

"No, but I brought you here to tell you that the plan is off."

"What plan?" Ranbir asked confused.

"The plan to make Prachi fall in love with you and then dump her, idiot." Riya said annoyed at Ranbir's forgetfulness.

"But why? It's going so well." Ranbir asked more confused now.

"Because it's wrong. Do you not realize how messed up it is to play with a girl's feelings like that?" Riya explained.

"I guess, you're right, but I never thought you would admit it." Ranbir said shocked.

"I know, I'm doing a lot of things that I wouldn't do before, almost dying puts a lot of things in perspective." Riya said half serious, half joking.

"Tell me about it. I never thought that this day would come when Riya Abhishek Prem Mehra would admit her faults." Ranbir said jokingly.

"Hey, I'm not the only one at fault here, you're just as much at fault as me, Ranbir Kohli. I mean who just randomly agrees with a girl to break another girl's heart? If I have messed up morals, so do you." Riya said in her defense.

"Oh hello, when did I ever say I was innocent? I admit that I am at fault too." Ranbir rebuttals.

"So we both agree that the plan is off?" Riya asked to clarify.

"Yeah, agreed." He said nodding his head

"Same agreed." She said and both of them shook each other hands to seal the deal.

"So does this mean that you'll go on a date with me?" Ranbir asked.

"I'm not answering that, at least not today." Riya said and honestly she didn't know the answer to that. When Ranbir asked her in the beginning, she had gotten out giving him an answer by laying a condition in front of him. Riya wasn't ready to date again, not after him. Plus Riya was beginning to realize that she liked Ranbir, he was a good person. But she did not like him like that. She just didn't know how to put it into words right now.

"So, you're just going to leave me hanging?" Ranbir said to Riya's back as she went back to Mehra mansion. He too went back inside after her.

Unbeknownst to Ranbir and Riya there in the shadows was a person, holding a phone in their hands, recording their whole conversation, smirking evilly.

Inside Abhi was about to open the guest room after knocking, about to see Pragya with Prachi, when a young man approached him.

"Hello, Mr. Mehra." The man said causing Abhi to shift his attention to him, so Abhi did not open the door.

"Hi, do I know you?" Abhi asked.

"Not yet, I'm Rakshit Shergill, your new business partner." The man named Rakshit elaborated.

"Oh, I thought you were supposed to come tomorrow." Abhi said confused.

"Well, I believe that people should always do their work early, and after all, it's Diwali, the festival of lights, what better day to meet than today." Rakshit said smiling in an indefinable way.

"I Agree, well then Happy Diwali! We'll discuss more about work tomorrow in our meeting. My daughter Riya will also be there to oversee the contract, after all, it's her project. Right now go downstairs and enjoy yourself, work will come later." Abhi said with a smile.

"Well said, Mr. Mehra, and Happy Diwali to you too, I'll see you and your daughter tomorrow." Rakshit said extending a hand to shake Abhi's.

"See you tomorrow." Abhi said shaking Rakshit's hand in his own.

With that said Rakshit left and Abhi remembered that he was there to check on Prachi and once again knocked on the door, opening it.
