"I saved. I mean I saved your daughter. I took her out of the car's way. I was a little late though because the car still gave her some injuries, so I brought her to this hospital. The hospital couldn't reach her family. And she was unconscious so I didn't want to leave her alone because she might have been scared if she woke up in a strange room. If I had a little sister, she would look like your daughter. So I just didn't feel right about leaving her, but I'm sorry if I crossed my limits, I'll just go. I'm sorry again." The girl said giving a lengthy explanation, scared that she had made Abhi angry.
As the girl began to leave though, Abhi surprised her by giving her a fatherly hug, which he quickly broke apart, when he realized that he might be making the girl uncomfortable.
"Sorry, Sorry for yelling at you, and sorry for the hug if it made you uncomfortable. But thank you, thank you for saving my daughter and staying with her when I wasn't here. I don't know how I could ever repay you." Abhi said apologetically and gratefully at the same time.
The girl was pleasantly surprised at Abhi's changed attitude.
"It's okay, Sir. You were just worried for your daughter so you got angry with me. When you find out I saved your daughter, you were relieved so you hugged me out of happiness. It happens there is nothing to apologize for. And as for repaying me, the fact that you're daughter is alive and healthy is enough of a payment for me." The girl said while smiling. Abhi too smiled at the girl's mentality.
"That's a nice way to look at life. But here take my business card and if you need anything and I mean anything don't hesitate to give me a call." The girl nodded and accepted the card, but as she was leaving Abhi stopped her.
"Hey, wait I never got your name." Abhi told the girl.
The girl smacked a hand against her forehead, angry at herself for her forgetfulness, and turned around to face Abhi again.
"Drishti. My name is Drishti Sood." The girl informed with a smile.
"Abhishek Prem Mehra." Abhi said extending his hand to shake Drishti's. Drishti shook his hand with her own. Both of them felt as if they knew each other from before.
"Thank you once again, beta." Abhi said gratefully.
"It was my pleasure. I hope your daughter gets well soon." Drishti said with a soft smile.
"I hope so too." Abhi said with a soft smile of his own.
With that said Drishti left, not seeing Pragya who was still by the side of the door, deliberating what to do next.
After Drishti left, Abhi pulled up a chair next to Riya's bedside, watching her sleep. Then he realized that Pragya had also come with him to the hospital. When he looked up to figure out where Pragya had gone, he spotted her in front of the door holding it open, looking at the back of Riya's head. Pragya too looked up, making eye contact with Abhi, they looked deeply into each other's eyes, wondering what to do next.
