Part 34- Of Love Storys, The Old, The New, And The Broken

Prachi followed Shahana into her room.

"What happened to you?" Prachi asked Shahana who was happily taking her earrings off in front of the mirror, lost in daydreams of Aryan.

"No- Nothing happened to me." Shahana said breaking out of her thoughts.

"Really?" Prachi asked Shahana, raising an eyebrow, indirectly telling Shahana that she didn't believe her.

"Really." Shahana said not wanting to tell Prachi what had happened between her and Aryan just yet. She wanted to see where their relationship would go before she told anyone.

"Now tell me what happened between you and Riya?" Shahana said changing the topic so Prachi wouldn't ask her any more questions, but she really did want to know.

"Oh, you wouldn't believe it if I told you." Prachi said smiling.

"Riya apologized. At first, she was struggling with what to say. But then she said it and it was heartwarming. I knew that whatever she said, she meant it, so I forgave her." Prachi said informing Shahana of what had happened.

"Are you sure this isn't one of Riya's tricks?" Shahana asked after a short silence, processing what Prachi had told her.

"I'm sure Shahana, you should've been there, you would know that Riya was sorry from all her heart. She was even willing to be punished for her actions, she wouldn't have done that if she wasn't truly sorry." Prachi told Shahana, quelling her doubt.

"Okay if you say so." Shahana said agreeing with Prachi, even though she still doubted Riya a little bit.

That night when Prachi and Shahana went to bed. Shahana's dreams were filled with numerous possibilities for her and Aryan's new relationship. While Prachi's thoughts were filled with worry for her mom and of a man who had kept her from falling, but she couldn't figure out who he was.

When Abhi and Alia went downstairs, they were surprised to find the living room empty, it seemed that all the guests had left.

"Oh look who finally showed up." Purab said sarcastically when he saw them.

"Is the party over?" Alia asked Purab, while Abhi just choose to remain silent.

"Yes the party is over and you left me all alone. You promise breaker." Purab said dramatically to Alia.

"Where is Aryan?" Alia asked choosing not to comment on the 'promise breaker' part, but smiling at how dramatic Purab was being.

"Oh that gets even better, he went with Riya to drop off some guests. And you know what? Riya didn't even try apologizing to me. I swear no one cares about me in this house. And before you ask something about Priyanka, she already went to sleep, she wanted to see her 'chucks' before going, but he was nowhere to be found. Tell me Abhi where were you that Alia spent the whole party looking for you?" Purab said to both Abhi and Alia, being super dramatic, but only jokingly.

"Purab I'm sorry, I got locked in the storeroom." Abhi said in a somber tone.

"Don't be mad at Alia, she was only trying to help." Abhi told Purab, not understanding that Purab was only joking, in his turmoil.

"Abhi are you-." Purab began to say about to ask Abhi if he was alright because Abhi sounded off, but Abhi interrupted him before he could.

"Okay, I'm going to go to bed now. I'm tired and we all have that meeting tomorrow with our new business partner so you guys go to sleep too. And when Riya and Aryan come home make sure that they go to sleep early both of them have school tomorrow, and Riya also needs to be at the meeting tomorrow. Goodnight." Abhi said walking off toward his bedroom

Purab went to follow him but Alia stopped him by shaking her head, and signaling to him that she will tell him what happened later on.

When Riya reached home she saw Aryan's car parked in the driveway. Knowing that he was already home, she directly went to his room.

"So Ari you were right, Shahana does live in the opposite direction." Riya said standing at Aryan's door, which was open, teasing him. As she was driving home, she realized why Aryan was acting so weird.

"Ugh! You're never going to let me live that down, are you?" Aryan said while sitting on his bed, putting a blanket over his head in embarrassment.

"No, I will not, It's my right as your older sister." Riya said letting out a small laugh, coming to sit next to Aryan on his bed.

"So tell me what's going on between you and Shahana?" Riya asked removing the blanket off of Aryan's head.

"I like her and I think that she likes me too." Aryan told Riya smiling, that statement made Riya look at him questioningly.

"I mean like is not the correct word for it. I feel something more for her than I have ever with anyone else." Aryan elaborates on what he meant, unable to describe all the emotions that he was feeling.

"Did you tell Shahana how you feel?" Riya asked smiling, intrigued.

"Yes, when I went to drop her off, I told her. And she said that maybe she likes me too, but I will have to work harder to get her to say it." Aryan said smiling, thinking back to the event.

"Oh! So little Aryan is in love." Riya said teasing Aryan, smiling softly at how lovestruck her brother looked.

"Shut up." Aryan said hitting Riya with a pillow.

"Now tell me did you apologize to Prachi?" Aryan asked to save himself from any further teasing, but he really did want to know.

"Yes, I apologized to Prachi. It was easier than I thought it would be. I feel pretty great after fixing things with Prachi. It feels like a huge weight has been lifted off of my chest. It's weird almost, It feels like me and Prachi were never meant to be enemies. When we hugged after we made up, it felt like I was hugging a long-lost friend." Riya said confused as to why hugging Prachi and Drishti di made her feel so many things.

"But you have to promise me something when Shahana says that she likes you too. You have to put in a good word for me, I don't think Shahana likes me for how I treated her friend." Riya told Aryan.

"I promise I will. But I can only do that once I get Shahana to like me, and for that, you have to help me. You have more experience in this department from when you and Sa-." Aryan began to say but then stopped mid-sentence.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have mentioned his name." Aryan said to Riya who was now looking down, sadly.

"No it's okay. This is about you, not me. And of course, I'll help you. Just tell me what I have to do." Riya said looking up, and putting on a fake smile, even though her love life didn't turn out like she wanted it to. She would make that Aryan didn't have to go through the same fate.

"Thank you." Aryan said hugging Riya, and Riya nodded her head.

"Okay, now goodnight." Riya said hugging Aryan tighter before releasing him and standing up to leave.

"Goodnight." Aryan said laying down on his bed to go to sleep.

Once Riya exited Aryan's room a few unwanted tears fell from her eyes at his memory, which Riya quickly wiped away. That night when Aryan and Riya went to sleep. Aryan dreamed about his future with Shahana. While Riya dreamed about a broken promise of forever and always that she had made a man, who was her everything, once upon a time.
