"You're hired, you can start work tomorrow." Drishti heard a man say when she picked up the phone.
"Ex- excuse me?" Drishti asked unbelievably.
"You're hired Ms. Sood, you can come work at Shergill Group of Companies starting tomorrow." The man said again and then cut the call.
Drishti stood frozen in shock for a while but then gave a bright smile.
"Eeeek!!" Drishti yelled out in celebration, jumping up and down in excitement.
"I got the job! I got the job! Thank you Shivji!" Drishti said happily, folding her hands together to pray.
"And I'm sorry, last time I said too much. I was just angry, but you know I didn't mean it." Drishti said smiling softly.
"I have to do so much before tomorrow! I have to pick out clothes for work and research the company, but first I should call Rooh and tell her that I got the job! She'll be so happy!" Drishti said smiling, dialing Riya's number.
But unfortunately, Drishti's phone died as she was doing this.
"Oh ho, of course, you want to die now, you're never helpful." Drishti said to her phone, frustratedly.
"But now that I have a job, I can finally replace you." Drishti said happily, going to charge her phone so that she could call Riya, a smile ever present on her face after a long time.

"Are you sure about this, Ms. Mehra? Leading with your heart is oftentimes harmful." Rakshit said to Riya as he cut the call with Drishti, still sitting in her cabin."Yes, I'm certain, Mr. Shergill. And our heart is what makes us human, it won't ever lead us in the wrong direction." Riya said wisely, smiling softly, while Rakshit looked like he disagreed with her statement but didn't say anything.
"And as per our agreement, here you go, let's sign this contract." Riya said laying a different file than before, in front of Rakshit.
Both Rakshit and Riya wordlessly signed the contract, which Riya then took back and keeping it in her desk drawer.
"It was nice doing business with you, Ms. Mehra." Rakshit said as he stood up to leave, trying to understand why Riya had done what she had done, extending a hand to shake Riya's hand.
"Same here Mr. Shergill." Riya said standing up to shake Rakshit's hand.
And with that said Rakshit left the cabin while Riya sat back down on her chair, lost in thought.

"But how did this happen?" Drishti thought to herself as she was picking out clothes for tomorrow."Didn't that man say that I would never get a job at his company?" Drishti asked confused.
"And now he is the one calling me to tell me that I'm hired." Drishti said now more confused.
"Well whatever, maybe he's just like that." Drishti said shaking her head.
"First he catches me, and then he drops me. Then he says I will never get a job but then hires me himself. Maybe he's just bipolar from birth." Drishti said with a chuckle.
'Working with you will definitely be an interesting experience, Mr. Shergill.' Drishti thought to herself, shaking her head, not knowing what was coming her way.

The ringing of her phone snapped Riya out of her thoughts, and she picked up her phone from the desk only to see that Drishti was calling her."Rooh! Guess what?! Guess what?!" Riya heard Drishti say excitedly, like a child when she picked up the phone.
"What, Drishti di?" Riya asked smiling softly.
"But, you're supposed to guess." Drishti said in a whiney voice, still just as excited.
"Okay, uh did win the lottery? Or did you get get a private jet? Oh oh I know you got a private island, I always wanted one, and now I'm jealous." Riya said jokingly, guessing over-the-top things.
"No, pagal, how would I have enough money for all of those things? Guess smaller." Drishti said smiling knowing that Riya was messing with her.
"That's why my first guess was that you won the lottery. Because if you did, then you can do all the things I mentioned after and-." Riya said trying to mess with Drishti further.
"You're terrible at this game." Drishti said with a chuckle, cutting Riya's rant off.
"Hey!-" Riya began to say defensively.
"I got the job!" Drishti said excitedly, smiling brightly.
"You what?! You got the job?!" Riya asked excitedly.
"Yes, I got the job! I start tomorrow!" Drishti said just as excitedly.
"Oh, my God! Oh my God! This calls for a celebration!" Riya said smiling brightly.
"I'll come over at around 7 PM and then we'll celebrate your new job! What kind of cake do you like?" Riya asked excitedly.
"No Rooh there is no need for that. I just wanted to share my happiness with you. I don't need a celebration." Drishti said humbly, smiling softly.
"Pfft, you're getting a celebration even if you don't want it. In this family we celebrate milestones, and this is a big milestone for you. So no arguments." Riya said determinedly.
"I'll see you at 7, now bye." Riya said smiling, cutting the phone before Drishti could protest again.
******
"Family." Drishti said in a mere whisper, smiling softly, with unfallen tears in her eyes."I like that, I've never had a family before." Drishti said softly, with a teary chuckle.
"Stop it Drishti, you're being too sentimental." Drishti said lightly hitting the back of her head because of her ridiculousness, chuckling softly.
A smile was ever present on Drishti's face as she did house chores and prepared for work tomorrow.
******
"If you're happy Drishti di, then I know that I made the right choice by changing the contract." Riya thought out loud leaning back into her chair and smiling softly."I just hope that you never find out about it." Riya said slightly worried.
"But how would she find out? There's no way." Riya said to herself now more at ease, smiling happily because of Drishti's happiness.
However, Riya did not know that what she had done today would come back to haunt her later on and would lead to several unforeseen events.
But only time would tell what was to happen.
