Group Project | Kim Seokjin | Part 1

You're sitting in English class, alone in a corner of the classroom. Your teacher is introducing a new project that you're going to work on for an upcoming couple of weeks. The project itself seems pretty okay until your teacher says that it's a group project. You hate group projects because you always get left behind and then put into a random group by the teacher. And this time, there was nothing new. Everyone gets into groups with their best friends and classmates, while you just sit there in the corner. But this time, you weren't the only lonely one...

I noticed that in the other corner of the classroom, there was a guy sitting alone. Just like me. He stood up, looked around, and then saw me. He went over to me. It was Jin, one of my good friends. I mean, I don't have many friends, but he is pretty much always there for me when I need help with something.

- Hey, you seem pretty lonely back here, he said as he stood in front of me.

- I'm pretty used to it now, I answered coldly. I wasn't in the best mood and now the annoying group project...

- You can work with me! I know you're an ambitious person, so there won't be any problem with it only being the two of us in the group, he explained happily.

- Won't it be a problem for you, though? You could join any other group where the rest of your friends are... I looked down at the desk, not showing my sad and pouty face.

- No, it won't be a problem! I want to work with you, for real.

- Okay then... Thanks by the way...

- Oh don't thank me, you know that I'm always there for you if you need me.

He sat down beside me, opening his computer as I got out my notebook and a pencil. We started off with brainstorming and writing down the ideas we come up with. The project was about writing a story - it's the year 2045 and planet Earth is about to explode because of the climate changes. You and a group of 14 other people had been chosen to go on a trip to another planet, and in the story, you have to write about the whole experience. When we had an overall idea of how it would look, we started writing on the computer, getting all the ideas into one thing. Our teacher reminded us of the other terrifying thing - we have to read the story for the whole class. We haven't had any class-presentations before and I was scared that my English would sound horrible. English is not my first language, I'm actually from ___ (your country of origin lol, unless you're from America or the UK, then just go with the flow lmao). Everyone probably thinks I can't even speak English at all.

Finally, the bell. It was the end of the class and Jin and I had worked really hard. We had a really good start and only needed an hour or two to be completely done. Then we just need to read through a couple of times and I can check my pronunciation. But even if we had done a lot, I was still really stressed about the whole project.

*time skip*

I was finally on my way home from school. I decided to stop at a nearby supermarket to get some snacks. I had my earphones plugged and "Boy with Luv" by BTS was playing loudly. While walking, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I stopped, pulled out my earphones and turned around, meeting a boys eyes. It was Jin.
