"I don't want to." Emily told Mike before pecking his cheek and escaping into her room.
The rangers had gotten home late from the amusement park and Mike had asked if she wanted to sleep in his room.
Emily refused, not wanting Mike to notice her cuts. She wanted him to learn about it by her own accord.
She also wanted to take it slow. She knew that it would be for the better.
Mike smiled as she ran down to hall to her room. His ignorance was bliss.

Mia woke up to the familiar feeling of the floor rocking like a boat.
It took her a second to come to her senses, but after rubbing her eyes, she recognized the harrowing darkness of the crimson sky.
She scattered to sit up on the wooden floor in disbelief and fright.
She looked down upon her hands, splintered and scratchy.
Mia snapped her gaze upward as she heard the thuds of Dayu's steps as she approach her.
Dayu greeted Mia with a sinister smirk curling her lips. The nighlok suddenly kicked her across her face.
Mia's body launched towards the right. As her reflexes kicked in to break her fall, her elbows got scrapped against the wooden floor.
Mia tenderly felt her cheek. Blood stained her fingertips.
Dayu stomped on her back, causing Mia scream out of shock and pain. Her elbows she had braced her body with slipped off the floor, causing her face and ribs to slam against the wooden floor.
Dayu stepped away only to stomp on her again with more force. Mia cried out louder than before as Dayu's heel pressed into her back and crushed her.
"Music to my ears." Dayu hummed as Mia cried out.
Dayu lifted her foot in preparation to pound her into the floor once more.
Mia waited in tedious suspense as Dayu's foot hovered over her aching body.
Dayu laughed as Mia cowered and cried. She peered down at the pathetic human with pride.
Finally, the nighlok brought her foot down with more might than before.
Mia gasped as if she had come back to life.
The lights were dim and she was in her bed.
Jayden had held Mia up by her shoulders and shook her awake. Both of them were sitting on Mia's bed.
He was the only one who woke up to Mia's screams lightly echoing through the Shiba House.
Mia darted her eyes around the room and ignored Jayden. How could she possibly be in the Shiba House?
What she had relived set her back to her time spent in the other world with Dayu. It was too realistic.
"Hey. You're alright, Mia. There's nothing here to fear." Jayden kept his hands on her shoulder.
