12 ~ The Afterwards / Dangerous

    Morning came. The sunlight bursting through the white curtain hit Jayden's face, waking him up.

    When Jayden sat up, he noticed Kevin in his room, looking straight at him.

    "You passed out last night," Kevin told Jayden. "Are you really alright?"

    "I'm fine." Jayden was always one to carry his burdens alone. He didn't want to trouble others, even if it meant painting him.

    Jayden tossed the blankets off of him. He got up to walk away but fell to the floor again.

    "Jayden!" Kevin hurried to help him stand.

    "I said get off of me!" Jayden's eyes turned red. He pushed Kevin down to the floor.

    Jayden approached Kevin. He kneeled to grab Kevin's shirt and sock him in the face. However, when Jayden launched his fist at him, he missed.

    Right after this, Jayden's eyes stopped glowing red and he passed out once again.

    Kevin, who's heartbeat was racing took a moment before he lifted the red ranger up and laid him down on his bed just as he had done the night before. He was unsure if his miss was intentional or not.

    Even though Kevin was looking at his eyes, he was unable to see that they had ever turned red.

    That wasn't Jayden... Kevin thought to himself as his concern built up.

    He went to the living room and sat on the couch. He thought to himself with his chin resting on his fist.

    Why is Jayden acting like this? It's not in his character at all!

    He seems to be angry or violent before he passes out... was he violent yesterday before he fainted?

    Then Kevin remembered.

    Mia!

    When Mike woke up, Emily was already awake and holding him closely.

    They kissed and talked to each other for a bit before getting up and hitting the shower together.

    "You don't look so good." Mia told Antonio.

    "Neither do you." He replied.

    It was true. Mia and Antonio did not get to sleep much at all. As much as they both didn't want it to, their traumas have kept them awake for too long.

    Both of them had dark bags under their eyes. Not to mention the solemn expressions on their face.

    Mia circled the kitchen counter to meet Antonio. She gave him a big hug.

    Antonio held her tightly, with her head under his chin. They stood still in each other's embrace, providing each other much needed comfort.

    Of course when they were having a moment the Nighlok alert blared.

    All the rangers except for Jayden came rushing towards the table to look at the map.

    "You guys go on. I'll look after Jayden." Kevin wanted to fight, but he knew that it would be best he was to watch over Jayden.

With that said, the rangers rushed into action.

    Korruptorem, or Kotek, was wreaking havoc in the city. The rangers encountered him but they had lost to him. He dried out before he could corrupt them with his poison.

    The rangers had returned sullenly after they were defeated

    "I'm sure of it! That was the Nighlok that poisoned Jayden." Emily told the rangers.

    "What was his name again?" Kevin looked through the Nighlok archives within the Shiba House.

    "He was going by Kotek." Emily said.

    "But there's no Kotek in these files..." Kevin felt stressed. "He may have been spawned recently."

    "Anyway, I don't think Jayden has been fully purified by the poison. I think it's still affecting him and even my swordfish zord isn't powerful enough. I believe it makes him aggravated and even violent. But it also causes him pain." Kevin informed the other rangers.

    "We all have to be cautious of him. He could and would attack us." Kevin warned his friends who were quite skeptical.

    The rangers couldn't believe that not only was Jayden acting out of the ordinary, but he was prone to turning on them. However, they understood that Kevin never joked around.

    Their hearts felt heavy.

    Jayden was dangerous.
