17 - Pretty Boy / Bandage

"Terry um.... please sit." Kevin invited Terry inside and escorted him to the living room.

"Ah thank you!" Terry nodded at Kevin.

Terry seemed like another pretty boy who belonged in an idol group, sporting a short sleeved collared shirt tucked into his high wasted pants, which was secured by a black belt.

As Terry's glow lit up the living room, Kevin was internally going mad.

Terry seemed excited to see Mia.

How do you tell a teenager so giddy and cheerful that their sister has a mild concussion?

"Terry," Kevin sat down in the living room with him. The seriousness in his voice caught Terry's attention quickly.

"Mia was injured yesterday. She has a concussion." Kevin cut straight to the chase.

"Where is she?" Terry's smile turned upside down. He was on his feet without realizing it.

Terry followed Kevin to Mia's room.

The first time that Terry had seen Mia since she had became the pink ranger was in this moment, with her long, dark hair at her sides as she gracefully slept.

Terry had never seen Mia this way before. It saddened him.

"How did this happen?" Terry assumed it was a Nighlok attack.

Kevin didn't mince his words.

"The green ranger attacked her."

Emily and Mike were out of breath when they arrived at the Shiba House. The battle they faced against the Nighlok was difficult, but nothing they couldn't handle themselves.

    "You okay?" Mike called attention towards the thin wound on Emily's back. It didn't stretch very far, but looked slightly deep.

    "It just stings a bit." Emily modestly admitted. "Mike, can we sit. I need to tell you something."

    "Me too," Mike said. "It's very important. Can I go first?"

    Emily nodded. She believed that her sister's condition would be better off said after Mike's important thing.

    Either that, or she was stalling.

    They both sat down on the futon in Emily's room. Mike brought in the first aid kit and Emily brought a basin of water with a few cloths.

    "So, I wanted to talk to you about what happened the other night when you were gone." Mike said as he squeezed the excess water out of a white cloth. "Turn."

    Emily turned so that her back was facing Mike and crossed her legs. She lifted her shirt just enough to reveal the wound on her back.

    "I know that you already know what happened that night... I shouldn't have lost my temper like that, even if Kevin was being an ass."

Mike gently passed the cloth over her wound, cleaning the surrounding areas from the blood.

"Sorry." Mike said as Emily hissed from the uncomfortable sensation.

    "I can't even believe what I've done to Mia. I-I feel so much remorse... Emily, you bring so much happiness and light into my life. I love you so much."

    Carefully listening to every word, Emily felt Mike's seriousness. It was rare for him to not call her by her nickname.

    "But I realized that I have the capability to physically hurt those I care about. And the last thing I would want, is to hurt you." After he treated the wound with an ointment, Mike opened up a bandage that was slightly longer than her wound.

    "I love you, but... I want to take a break from our relationship... until I'm more self-aware." Mike said as he was patching up her back.

 

    "You can't." Emily jolted onto her feet and spoke without hesitation. The bandage wasn't completely plastered to her skin and hung off her back.

    "Huh?"

    "You can't, you can't."  Emily panicked.

    "Mike, I- Serena is very ill and she doesn't have much time left now. I know I should've told you earlier but I was still processing it myself and I didn't want to bother you but I need you." Emily rambled.

    "Mike I need you." Tears streamed down Emily's face. "I can't bare this."

Mike was shocked. He never could've seen this coming.

As she was already losing her sister, Emily couldn't cope with distancing herself from her boyfriend.

"I'm so sorry..." Mike stood up and pulled her into an affectionate hug.

Emily felt guilty for being selfish, but his arms felt warm and comforting around her. Everything would be alright...

Mike understood how much Emily loved her sister. She was her only family.

He wanted to distance himself for Emily's benefit, but sticking to her side would probably be best for her.

Jayden followed his feet into the forest.

The pattern of trees were so uniform that he couldn't tell one part of the forest from another. However, he ended up on the grounds where they fought Amarex.

    They never saw Amarex again.

    Jayden's suddenly felt a pounding in his head. All this time, the poison didn't bug him until now; the poison became a mallet.

    It became a battle to stay conscious as Jayden's reality was turning black.

    Even though the world was twirling, Jayden managed to brace against a tree and slide down to the floor.

    "Kotek..."
